As the Republican Party continues to grapples with its 2012 election loss, Karl Rove, a high profile GOP strategist and veteran of the Bush administration, has created a new organization, the Conservative Victory Group to help field electable Republican candidates.

Particularly of concern to the group is the 2014 Senate races in which Republicans will need to pick up six seats to gain control of the chamber. Some have blamed Republican electoral woes on hard-right candidates who upset more moderate contenders (and even incumbents) in the primaries, but could not win in general elections.

The group, an offshoot of Rove's super PAC American Crossroads, has already drawn heat from the more conservative elements of the party, often associated with the Tea Party, who fear they are being bullied by the so called "establishment."

Rep. Steve King, the conservative Iowa congressman who is reportedly eying a 2014 Senate run, has already released a letter slamming the organization; "Karl Rove and his army have launched a crusade against me," said the letter, which also asked for donations from supporters.

Karl Rove has defended his group, saying on Fox News, "This is not Tea Party versus establishment. I don't want to fight."

But other top-level strategists, like Club for Growth President Chris Chocola, have questioned whether it will really help the party, arguing the primary voters should be trusted to decide the best candidate. "They get to decide who the nominee is," Chocola said.

This information is from a speech I saw on CSPAN. I found the coverage of it on Breitbart's website.

Pat Caddell Unloads on 'Racketeering' GOP Consultants

Pat Caddell, the Fox News Contributor and Democrat pollster who engineered Jimmy Carter’s 1976 Presidential victory, blew the lid off CPAC on Thursday with a blistering attack on "racketeering" Republican consultants who play wealthy donors like "marks."

This is another view. I watched Pat Caddell give this speech on Cspan, and it helped explain why the Republican ads for Romney were so pitifully inadequate during the Presidential campaign, when they produced totally inept ads.

An example is the one that said: "President Obama tried, but he just couldn't get it done, and it's all right to make a change," while a very sympathetic picture of Obama was shown on the tv screen.

Mr. Larson, Chief of Staff to Reince Prebus gave out the contracts.

There was one media buyer, and one producer, both insiders, doing ads for Romney's campaign team ,Romney's Super Pac, and Crossroads, which was Karl Rover's Super Pac.

Everything was handled by a company started by Reince Preibus' Chief of Staff, Mr. Larson.

Over $400 million, at least was incinerated. Everything was done internally.

Possibly, one billion ($1,000,000,000) was wasted.

$10 million ($10,000,000) was spent on research focus groups.

$1 million dollars ($1,000,000) was spent on polls at the rate of one hundred thousand ($100,000) per page for one hundred (100) pages.

Now, Karl Rove has a new Super Pac, and intends to engineer the loss of another election.
