I would really appreciate some insight as to what a troll is and why.
Do they get paid for the number of hits they receive?
Is it a lucrative enterprise?
I appears that some posts are patently malarkey. An intelligent being couldn't possibly believe the garbage sometimes posted.
If the trolls get paid doesn't it appear prudent to refuse to read their stuff so they find out that they aren't welcome when no bucks come in?
I'm not sure how it works, hence the question. I suspect there is money in the background somewhere.
I would be delighted if this site was able to prevent postings from members of my Ignore list even showing up on my pages.
After all, what is the function of an ignore list?

If you think you need to ignore trolls, I'd say you're a bit too thin skinned.
A troll has no finite definition, nor do I believe it is a profession in which they receive pay for their dispicable methods of libelous rhetoric.
And anyone maybe be deemed a troll simply because they harbor a difference of opinion.
I personally don't believe in trolls.
I also don't believe that everyone should agree with my own opinions and politics.
Those who you call troll, to me are simply subjects of research and they are like microscopic entities to be studied in this petri dish of a forum.
Never let a written word cause you to become stressed, and remember that anything you read here has no bearing on your control over your own life.

The ‘trolls’ are filled with anger (for some reason) and their posting is simply a pathetic cry for help and attention seeking. If you notice, they all have a similar MO: look at postings by Kevyn, LoneWolf, Permafrost, etc...

Interesting. Care to coffer a guess as to why one poster found it necessary to post 111 posts in a 2 day period? None current. Some pages in length.
