I read your list and having grown up in the deep south find nothing remotely racist
about any of the 10 phrases...In fact the 'grandfather-clause' has saved me a lot of money
I refer to gypsy's as gypsy's cuz I buy trucks from several good ol' boy redneck gypsy's/romanians
I call em gypsy-jim, gypsy-dino etc.

Went to the website to view your post! Found some of those supposedly "racist" words/phrases rather silly, others were culturally blurred! For incidence "Gypsy", not being black I have no idea of any black cultural meaning for that word. Gypsy to me brings forth these images/meanings: Gypsy Rose Lee, a mid-century performer, Gypsy as described in clothing as Bohemian, another thought brought up: traveler, people who move from place to place more often, Carnivals and performers!

If I were asked to rate this post I would give it about a 5 for relevance! I did scroll down and there were some other worthwhile posts and numerous very politically left-leaning and misleading posts, mostly using such publications at The Atlantic, Washington Post & NYT to verify there authenticity. Knowing that all of these sites are extremely political partisan, I dismissed their conclusions! Very left-leaning site, pandering to their choir!
