Just had a service tech for our furnace and the part was $ 80.00 plus labor. No Biggy until I saw that labor was taxed as well.

WTF is with that? This is in N C what about your state?

What is next are cashiers, teachers, mail person, baby sitters, etc etc etc going to tax me for doing their job?

Right, this is what started the revolution when people felt they were being taxed to death, the point of no return was when they taxed their tea, lol, I believe we're there. Just imagine all the revenue they're receiving on labor! NC also is the gift that keeps on giving, you not only pay tax when you buy it but every year after you have it, this includes listing some of your personal possessions such as jewelry!

A fellow N C I presume. Well aware of that possession tax to. Just waiting for them to come on the property to check mine out. Taxing my boats was no way around it until I got rid of them. That was a relief from just not having to pay that.

The Tax Poem

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table at which he's fed.

Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries tax his tears.

Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways to tax his ass.

Tax all he has, Then let him know, That you won't be done till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers, Then tax him some more, Tax him till he's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he's laid.

Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...'

When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply the inheritance tax.

It's point of sale (POS) tax, which includes everything being charged. Here's the one that really pisses me off; tobacco and booze are pre-taxed, State and Federal taxes are already included in the marked price, then at the register..................State, county and city taxes are calculated on the total, meaning, taxes are being paid ON taxes already included, with the State double dipping.

I calculated the total I pay to Gov entities - in 2017 it was 52% of my income, in 2018 it was 55%, and in 2019 it was 57%. Anyone else see a pattern here?

Yes. An intended act to confiscate at least 50% of whatever you make, does this % you post include all the sales tax you also pay when shopping or whatever or is this solely income??

Please be aware of this.
For states that require sales tax, they tax all income received from all types of businesses. When you own a business, the state will charge sales tax every sale that you make, whether you sell labor, service, or merchandise.
Then at year-end, businesses also pay income tax based on the calculated net taxable income. The sales tax businesses collected are remitted to their state every quarter. That is how states generate income for their operation. There are many other sources of taxes they charge. The most expensive are property taxes.

Salaries of employees, are not business income. Those are in fact operating expenses. Sales tax don't apply there. But when employee report income at year-end to the IRS, that is the the time you calculate if your income meets the threshold of paying income tax. If income is low, and not liable, all the monthly withheld taxes from your payroll are refunded to you.

I have lawn maintenance, and I pay sales tax of 10% for their service.

That's all sales taxes, car registration fees, personal property, real estate, utility taxes and income taxes. Someone who doesn't get the moderate tax relief for being a senior, must pay considerably more in total taxes.

Be aware, every time money moves, they are being taxed.
That is where our government gets money to pay for their lucrative operations, salaries, and benefits. Most government are corrupt. E.g. Congress. They spend our money like water, spent $35 million attacking the innocent president, and years of impeaching him. I pay so much income tax every year. And I don't like the crooks and radical dems in Congress eating the taxes. AOC, Omar, and Talib. I am really piss off. They do nothing but blab against my country, the Christians, and Israel.

I pay so much property tax to spend on this millions fo illegal aliens in public schools. Every year, we pay $12,000 to $16,000 for each kids in the public schools. And every year my taxes are going up. 65% of our property tax goes to public schools, the rest to the City and State.

Now it's tax time again. Here are my property tax bills sitting on my desk due March 31st. And my IRS taxes due this April 15th. I have to set budget of $37,000 for that, despite I withheld taxes on most of my retirement funds.

And what does Congress do with my money and yours? Investigate the president to take over power illegally.

Radiance,

I feel like a 'slave' on the 'English plantation' run by the members of the BAR.
{ British Accredited Registry}

This taxing is exhorbitant.
It keeps increasing and as stated they use it to attack Trump.
It's rediculous.

I've never seen service people put sales tax on labor, come to think of it there was no sales tax on our $22,000 solar system. We do pay tax on things like appliances and items. There are service people who don't understand the ins and outs of taxes, look to see if he's supposed to pay sales tax.
