I agree with you, we do spend much of our time apologizing. But, I am sure you would agree, when you do make a major (apparently so in this case) faux pas, then an apology is not only necessary, but the right thing to do. My response in the thread came across critical of a recent deceased sports star. I have a different view of death; it is necessary and it will happen to everyone. I get somewhat amused and somewhat annoyed when people elevate the deceased to a god-like positions. This is not politically correct, as one should not talk badly about the dead, to do so makes the speaker appear to be callused or uncaring for the feelings of their friends and loved ones. In other words, I should have been more mindful of weighing the facts to the harm those facts caused others. I will always apologize when I am wrong, and in this case, I was wrong.

Having said all that...I sincerely appreciate your response!

I too feel bad when I offend, even though I spoke from my heart! I don’t feel that because someone died they became a new person that changed on death! What they did in life does not change that! The only one that forgives and changes people is God and that only happens while u live! Bad behavior doesn’t change after that! While there is breath a person can be a good person! After they die a turd stays a turd and without apology they are the same! Death doesn’t redeem you, Jesus Christ does! You are wise to be humbled to apologize! That’s makes you a better person!! While ur still alive to do it!

I so appreciate your support!

I am reminded, in times like this, when pride must be ignored and apology made of the Cherokee Legend of the two wolves; "An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

On the day of my careless remarks, I feed the wrong wolf!

Perhaps you fed a wolf cub still in training to be a bad wolf but, considering the hatred that saturates so many people om OPP, who hate everyone who does not follow the progressive line totally, your slight mistake is minimal at worst. Considering how many times I have gone overboard with leftists before desciding to just ignore them rather than have them contaminate my life in any way. It used to be, when I was a boy and the other boys were busy making fun of my scoliosis and nicknaming me "The gimp", as did my father, that it ate at me but early in life I learned to ignore their reality, and still, at 76, do that too,no matter how frustrated it makes those who are quick to condemn. So I can say, in a loving way "don't let the bastards get you down" you are better than that.

NPP.

I don’t believe in that don’t speak I’ll of the dead! What did coby do that was memorable or worthy, played a game that gave him many rewards! My father was born with congenital heart disease and went into the army at 17 to fight for this country! He and my mom raised 4 kids and he worked hard all his life! His first heart attack was at 27! He died 1 week before he turned 41! Compare him to a billionaire that died while living the life!! What about when princess dianna was idolized and still is! For what being a princess, sure she did a few things for headlines! Then look at mother Theresa that lived her whole life sacrificing for the poor, who also turned down the million dollar bible peace prize, which she earned, unlike ovomit! When dianna died she was number one in headlines, mother Theresa died the same week and got a tiny piece on the 6 th page! My beautiful mom died that same time! Don’t idolize the dead! They are dead and what they did that was noble in life should be remembered, if they were a nominal human they are normally dead! Be the best God makes you to b when ur alive! If ur a creep and did creepy things when u were alive you haven’t changed!
