How About That "Gang of Eight?"

I'm wondering how many of you nice people have compared what is being said about the much ballyhooed "Immigration Reform" as to what the bill actually says? Don't be fooled by Rubio's RINO patriotism, and stage presence. Have you heard that in order to be eligible for citizenship, illegals have to pay back taxes? Sounds like a plan, Huh? What could be wrong with that? What the bill ACTUALLY says is that they have to pay any back taxes that have been assessed by the IRS. Since most illegals work either under the table , or via false IDs, there IS NO ASSESSMENT! Hence, no back taxes. Illegals won't be eligible for benefits? Bet you still believe in the Easter Bunny. Tighter border security? Yes, but not applicable to LAND PORTS of ENTRY. Seen any oceans in Arizona lately? Every member of the so-called "Gang of Eight" is a liberal, or a liberal dupe. This legislation will trigger a wave of illegal immigration like this country has never seen. At a time when we are under a threat of attack by terrorists, we will make it far easier for them to enter this country. This is not even political correctness, it is pandering for votes. This is a game the Republicans can never hope to win. With the exception of the Cuban community, the Hispanic vote will be overwhelmingly Democratic, and the Liberals are simply attempting to assure their future voter base.
Understand that these people, portrayed as poor, honest immigrants hoping for employment, are not here to look for work, so much as to get free stuff. They cost this country 84 billion dollars last year alone, in legal, educational, welfare and medical expenses. Most of the medical expenses involve having "anchor babies" at taxpayer expense. They sent an estimated 56 billion dollars back to their home countries while we pay for their schools, doctors, groceries, and jail cells. You think it's bad now? Tell your Senator or Congress critter to vote for this badly flawed bill. Think I'm kidding? In Los Angeles County, CA, about 30% of the population are illegal aliens. A little over 90% of these are on some sort of government assistance, which they don't qualify for and are not supposed to receive. Multiply that by the entire country. We are not that far from becoming "Mexico del Norte." The authors of this legislation have already proven themselves repeatedly to be liars. Don't get snookered by their lies. No Amnesty, no flawed immigration bill. Tackle one problem, fix it. Don't try a typical Federal moron "one size fits all (poorly)" solution. This is political pandering by political prostitutes, plain and simple. It truly upsets me to see a man I respect, (John McCain), get on board with this. The rest of them I expected nothing better. To hear more in English, please press one. To begin immediate deportation proceedings, por favor, marque el numero dos.

Jack, not saying that what you posted is not factual. I would really like to read the bill for myself. Can you tell me how to find it, as I have been unsuccessful so far. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

However, on the face of what you said, I agree with you 100%. These criminals need to go, and I am not just referring to the illegals.

That would be great, except that law now exists and like everyother law that this administration doesn't want to enforce, useless. To pass another law that won't be enforced is a complete waste of time and money that we don't have.

They say we can't deport all of the illegals, that is probably true. However, if we stopped giving free stuff and allowing anchor babies most would leave on their own. Then find and deport the remainder. We will have to first change all three branches of gov't to achieve this. Term Limits for all three, no lifetime jobs. None of rest of the citizens in this country are guaranteed lifetime employment, why are they. 8 years max for all.

I just pressed numero dos. I guess that makes me a terrible conservative who doesn't want that bill to be passed. You have held up so many of its weak points and left leaners won't ever see any of them.

I do disagree with you about John McCain. I do this because I see pure RINO when I look at McCain. Also, I don't think that McCain tried very hard to win in 2008 and the reason is very obvious to me. He just hasn't worked against Obama nearly hard enough, ever, to convince me that he isn't one of THEM.

I hate to take a side against a fellow Veteran, but I agree, McCain really has not stood up for what he claimed to stand for during the election. He has capitulated more that objected.

Ah, I see that I am not alone here in what I think about McCain. I started worrying about him when he refused to allow Palin to campaign with the same methods as they had used against them and my feelings about him have grown from that point. Right now I am seeing McCain and Graham in the same light on nearly every question that comes up.

oldroy, I have to regretfully agree with you about McCain, I, too, hate to take sides against a fellow veteran, especially one who was a POW, but you are right in your assessment of his "go along to get along" attitude. I think he is not so much a RINO as terminally non-confrontational, just what the lefties like.

You sound like a man I could respect, except for a few matters you wrote about, Jack. I agree that Rubio is a RINO, and even I was suckered into believing he was going to be a different kind of politician, but his actions since he was elected have shown his true colors and his allegiance to the "Masters of Deceit" who insinuate themselves into the careers of every politician who appears to be on the road to success, from local to international politics, and who work against any whom they can't manage to control - they are the international Zionist bankers.

These multi-billionaire agents of destruction and corruption have virtually 90% or more of the government of the USA in their pockets, and they even boast about being in control of America. They use their Mossad agents/spies to gather compromising information on these politicians, and with their financial assistance along with their knowledge of the individual's sexual and other peccadillos - voila! - they own them.

The problem of non-European immigration (legal and otherwise) was fostered back in the 1960s by two of the most prominent of these agents of Zionism, Ted Kennedy and Manny Cellars, who pushed through the immigration bill that precluded European immigration in favor of non-whites from the Second and Third World cess-pools of the world. It was a move that brought on most of the problems we are suffering with today.

In my opinion, we have lost the struggle to keep America what it once was by allowing these evil people to gain the foothold they now enjoy, just as they have historically done so many other times to so many countries who have finally had enough of their depredations and stood up and dealt with them.

You mentioned John McCain as a man you respect, and here is where I disagree with you. It is my opinion that he was selected by the shadow government as the most likely candidate to lose to Obama, whom they preferred, yet who would still be in their grips if he had accidentally won. You see, they play both sides of the game by backing both candidates that they have selected to run for office, insuring they will have control over whomever wins.

At any rate, I have digressed somewhat from my original intent in replying to your post, but seeing I have run on for so long, I will let it stop here.

You are correct in your assessment of immigration policy. The late writer, Robert Heinlein, (also an Annapolis graduate), wrote in his book "Expanded Universe," about the decline and fall of Rome. I realize he used Gibbons "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" as a source, but in his fairly succinct summary, he postulates that Rome's decline began with unrestricted immigration and slack citizenship requirements. This led to an influx of unskilled immigrants with no desire to better themselves, or assimilate, or even learn Latin, but who merely wanted the freebies without the responsibilities. I believe "bread and circuses" was the phrase. These people quickly learned there was a certain type of politician who, in exchange for votes, would provide them with the "bread and circuses" they craved. No thought was given to the long term effects of this policy. Rome began to creak under the weight of the massive bureaucracies required to administer these free programs of government largesse providing everything to everybody. Crucial infrastructure, such as military and roads were being neglected in the mad rush to please the wave of foreigners who now had the franchise. They were citizens and voters too, you know. Statesmen were replaced by political whores who promised everything to everybody, with no thought of how it would be paid for. The Republic was no more, replaced by a polyglot, "multicultural" empire. The demographic had changed. Foreigners made up a huge percentage of Rome's army, and it's commanders. Patriotism was replaced with cynicism. Then, in 476 A.D., a fella by the name of Odoacer came to visit......., and the rest, as they say, is history.
