What is wrong is your ability to get my argument. I'm not rationalizing her loss. Nor am I complaining about the electoral college. I stated that at the outset.
What I am 'rationalizing' is the resistance to the Trump presidency: one can't govern as though one had a mandate without the support of the people. PR started this thread with the assertion that the American people voted in Donald Trump. I pointed out that more voted against than for.
It is the right of a people to resist an unpopular government, and the House is the peoples' voice in that constitutional republic. I really don't get what's so inflammatory about that since it's how the system is set up. Apparently the hardest thing to swallow is that President Trump just isn't that popular with most Americans.
Too bad Trump decided alienating those who did not vote for him was a better strategy than wooing them. He is reaping what he has sown.
If Trump wins again how does that square with your assessment? Remember, take California out of the equation and Trump wins the popular vote. It’s been a long time since we had a president that had a large majority of the country behind him.

California is part of the equation, but here's something to think about: what if Pennsylvania, Texas, and Florida flip this time? Or two of those three states? Then what?

Then Trump loses. Popular vote and electoral college.

I doubt President Trump will lose Florida and Texas!!!! Pennsylvania, I'm not sure about!!!

Just a hypothetical question-----anything is possible.

I agree. It was just a what if. Biden, if he is the nominee just blew it with his idiotic coding comment about coal miners in Pennsylvania.

Trump may win again. I have heard of an analysis that would have Trump win the EC even though losing the popular vote by 9 m. It's the way the system works.
If that were to happen (Trump winning the presidency and losing substantially in the popular vote) I suspect resistance will stiffen. I also think it would give a push to forming:

Well, al-Shabab killed an active duty soldier and two DoD contractors Sunday in Kenya, but I don't see Trump looking for them to kill them. Must have something to do with that oil field Iran found back in November with 50 billion barrels worth of oil??
