Humor

When we were born David and I had three older brothers. Our home was filled with laughter, love and Christian ethics. Our parents were role models for others. A sense of humor was had by all.
My mother was like Gracie Allen. Gracie had the ability to say ridiculous things with a dead pan expression and never laughed at her own jokes.
Mother was not a teacher, but went with them during spring break. Mother and a teacher named Grace married brothers. The principal asked mother how long she had known Grace and she said for over 50 years.
She wanted to let them know that Grace had been the nurse on duty when she was born. All the others cracked up, but mother just smiled.
My brother Bill had honed his humor razor sharp. Our neighbors yard was abut two feet above the street and had a stone wall holding it up.
One summer the sun had dried the lawn dry. Our neighbor was walking along his yard and was sliding over the grass and he had a disgruntled look on his face. Bill asked him if he was looking for a nickle. He looked down on Bill and said "what this lawn needs is water not wisecracks." We were with Bill and thought that that was a neat joke, but dared not laugh.

Disgruntled is unhappy or disgusted. Gruntled is an archaic British word so I do not know if he were gruntled or not.

Thank you for the explanation, although I was really being funny not serious, and I do know what disgruntled is, although the best description of if from my point of view is an overweight bulldog looking in the mirror.
