I discovered how low I have gone..

Was a dreary few days.. 4 days in a row of dark clouds, wind and cold rain..

then yesterday was the crown.. first one more time to the doc.. then the rest of the day cramed with all those little chores you gotta do and can not skip them.

So the depressing day went.

so in the early evening, the little lady who shares my gloom felt we should simply sit watch the tube..

Now comes the hard part, after near endless effort trying to find something we both could tolerate, we said comedy is the thing, cheer us up we said..

Look and look, we found a netflix that had a cast we both knew and liked..

So with popcorn and pepsi,, set settled in for the show..

A program called "the ranch"... comedy..... lots of cussing, crotch hitting and embarrassing jokes any 9th grader would chuckle at and hope mom did not learn about it..

I loved it!!!

got more laughs then in weeks.. even the lovely one could not help it.. she also smiled..

So we watched a number of them and the night slid past..

Now in a good humor. a short read and sleep came a calling..

If you feel the need, give it a look, it really is a good chuckle if you do not get on a high horse and call it bad names..

remember...."The Ranch"...

The description of this show reminds me of another reason I am happy we don't have TV service out here in the boonies. Some how I would rather take the dogs for a walk in the woods, than sit in front of the TV and watch this show.

You do have the right insight to what passes for entertainment.. the woods is far far better...

But the sad thing for my is that I was entertained and enjoyed the stupid show..

At least for the evening..

I am fond of the old Dr. Demento show, and Tom Lehrer was often played on it. I have a warped side that I seldom discuss on OPP for fear that no one will take my serious comments as anything other than comments from a demented person. However, the abused boys that we have worked with for years actually appreciate and laugh at the strange things that appeal to both SWMBO and me. Often their responses to those off the wall things give us an opening to get to their feelings, often hidden for many years. Of course, the dogs are our most important thereputic partners.

Midsomer Murders is a long time fav for both my wife and I..

watched them all, most more then once..

the original actor.. only had two shows to his credit in a lifetime.. both lasted 15 years for him..

Yes, great show.. even the cars and buildings add to the interest of the program..

Even changing the cast does not seem to hurt the show..

I agree the woods is better in the early evening, but at 3 or 4 am in the dead of winter you're much better off wit the boob tube. Unless you want to hack and sneeze all the next week. Shows that I don't even recognize, but it doesn't matter, just put me to sleep. Like the mind-numbing game shows, although those are only on after 6 am until about 10 am. My roommate in the nursing home used to watch them nonstop. At least I understood why a nurse/aide told him "You can kiss my butt later."

At 3 AM I am sound asleep, even if visions of sugarplums aren't dancing in my head. Visions of home made pizza may be there instead.

Blazing Saddles is a great movie as is Silver Streak. There is a movie called Best in show which claims to be about dog shows, but is really about very strange people, but worth a laugh now and again. The dogs like it, except for the puppy, so we play it for the adults after we put the puppy to bed. Five dogs in the house is a lot of fun particularly when 3 of them are Cane corso Mastiffs, even though one is still a puppy.
