Another would be a post about Gay rights. There are some in Government.

Then there are posts regarding Obama. 'Representing' our Government.

Which one, and from what type of people give the nastiest comments to? And, why do you suppose that would be?

If the topic is what subjects get the "nastiest comments," the subject has little or anything to do with it: all of the "nastiest (uncivil, disrespectful, unthinking, and hateful) comments" come from the blind; the ill-informed, bigoted, and mean-spirited. End of story! There is no call for any nastiness whatsoever. Those who are, constantly excuse their inexcusable behavior for a myriad of excuses but have not a single solid reason. Sometimes, maybe even often, passion gets the best of some and they speak from an honest and earnest conviction about some subject, in a shotgun blast that incidentally insults or degrades others. I have seen many apologize on both sides for this burst of, er, indiscretion.
