Then we agree. Reread my words, I said "more than gunshots". I remember the assassination very well by the way and MLK's, and Medgar Evers who lived just a few blocks away. My dad was a fireman, worked for the city commissioner off-duty, and Stennis and Eastland were our Senators. One was a statesman and one was a drunk. I witnessed Eastland fall out of his plane several times as my dad also worked at the old city airport fire department. I got around as a kid and had big ears. The governor, Ross Barnett, was a crook too. He bought a bunch of swampland, cheap, then turned it into a boating/fishing paradise and a reservoir, at taxpayer expense of course.
