In the rush to mythologize and demonize our presidents, we forget they’re human.

There are times I would rather have a not so good man who is a better leader. As a Texan I knew George W. was a good man but I also knew he was not a conservative.

I lived in Texas during Bush's terms as governor and his terms as US President. I never figured he was super intelligent - not did I ever think he was stupid. I never thought of him as conservative, but I never thought of him as evil. One person cannot be EVERYTHING, no matter how he is felt about.

I have always thought of George Bush as a sensitive, sane, amiable, decent, and caring person - and believe it or not, that is all I demand of any human. Those who demand more will NEVER be happy. I think Bush did what he and his advisors thought was the wise thing to do. I have two life-long friends who KNOW "W", and who think the world of him. Both are conservatives. Both know him from churches, one church in Austin, the other close to the Bush Texas ranch. Bush and Laura are humble, do not think they are better than the average American, do not sneer down their noses at "the common man", appreciate what people do for them.

How anyone can think ill of George Bush blows my mind because I believe, and will til my death, that he is a decent person. Are those who complain about him and insult him BETTER than him? No, they are WORSE.

I wonder if any of the Bush haters around have ever given any thought to how long Obama often makes news sources wait for him to make a speech. Maybe some of them need to read this quote from that article.

He was a stickler for punctuality. Long-time adviser Karen Hughes asked him years ago why he was always early for appointments. “Late is rude,” Bush replied. He thought that if people were going to take the time to see him, he shouldn’t keep them waiting.

Roy, I didn't like everything he did, but I believe he did what seemed the best thing to do. His haters will hate forever because that's the way they are. He probably made some mistakes, and that makes him a monster? No, it makes him human, something I question every day re the present President.

As I recall all those "haters of Bush" tended to be left leaners and they were just behaving the way their mentors wanted them to do. They just didn't want him to be the President after the Algore attempt to steal that election. That was the real beginning and they never gave up on any of it.

I really liked that quote about why he was always on time for appointments with the media. Obama is never on time and often as much as an hour late. Does that show any kind of respect? I don't think so.

Roy, Obama loves himself. He doesn't respect even himself and certainly no one else. I doubt seriously if he understands what "respect" is as there is nothing to indicate he ever came in contact with others who knew of it in his entire childhood. If he respected himself, he wouldn't give the petulance act all the time, he wouldn't openly show his hatreds and disdain for whites, conservatives, Christians, etc. He would "man-up", hold his head high, not because of arrogance, but because he had no reason for shame.

Wow, did you hit him right in the nose with that post. He surely doesn't respect anyone, even himself, and that is very obvious.

That is not a trueism that whosoever criticizes GW is worse than GW, only in your opinion. May I point out to you that the Bible says there is no good man, "No, not one." GW made a big issue of saying he was a Christian which got him the huge Christian vote, but as prez, stated at least 3 times, the universalist's view, that all other religions have their way to Heaven. This is a denial of Jesus Christ's own teaching, that know one comes to the Father in Heaven except through acceptance of Jesus, the Savior. GW never denied his membership in the Illuminist Skull and Bones super secret, super elitist, Luciferian masonic like lodge. No Christian would go thru the immoral, obscene, initiation requirements and state those dark oaths. Isn't it strange that this small organization which initiates only 15 elites each year has literally dominated the highest public offices of this government for many years. And, when GW was running for prez against Kerry, the odds were very stretched. Out of 300,000,000 citizens, these two "Bonesmen" are the only choice we voters had. No, GW has nothing in common with the average citizen.

Wow would my son be unhappy with you. He happens to be the Master of the local lodge of Free Masons and you have been led down a path and don't really know about some of the names you have called out trying to get at G. W. Bush. You must do some real reading somewhere to find that Bush and Kerry were what you say. Is that site very far left?

I'm going out onto a limb here because I can't back it up, and I almost without exception side with Christians. YOU may think Bush has nothing in common with the average citizen. I don't think that at all. Neither do many, many of those who meet him. Those who have met him with preconditioned malice in their hearts actually have come to like him. He serves in the churches he attends. That is more than a lot of "Christians" that I know. And simply following the Bible, reading it daily, attending church, praying regularly doesn't, to the best of my knowledge make anyone a Christian. My guess is that approximately 1/10 of each church's attendance on any given Sunday is Christian, and that is a generous guess. The others are good people who want to believe they are Christians and want others to think that also, but they aren't Christians.

I cannot for the life of me understand why a person of God publicly flays another who calls himself a person of God. What is accomplished when that is done? Makes God's people look pretty petty, I think.

Your tone reminds me of my grandfather whom I came to separate myself from permanently for the same reasons. He was a pious old fool who trumped every other person when it came to Christianity. The old "I'm a better Christian than you are" mantra.....I could be wrong but that is the sign of a doubter in my mind.

I will readily admit I don't know what obscene oaths this mystic organization of which poppy speaks are taken. I don't know as much about the "secret" stealth organization of only the elite. I am not denying it, but I do question how much so many know enough about it as to flay members - where do you get your information? Are you real sure you aren't being sucked into something that makes you look foolish? I am totally unaware of all the EVIL that apparently goes on there. Guess I am more innocent than even most Christians.
