"Life isn't fair." God, I hope so. I pray everyday that's true.

If life were actually fair, what might befall me as deserved for the harm or wrongs I have done? Or those even in my thoughts, as Jesus said? Karma does not cover it; that is "the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences." I am talking about here and now. Wanting or expecting fairness is a bad idea. It is like praying for patience: what do you get? Long lines and traffic jams. Lamenting a lack of fairness is a fool's folly. "Why me?" the stupidest question to ask.

Horrible things can happen to us as children and adults. For the innocent, definitely unfair. Yet being a victim perpetuates the wrong and pain, keeps us suppressed. Forgiving those who have deeply harmed us seems totally wrong, the very definition of unfairness. It is like paying the bounty for them to be free of their crimes. But is isn't. It takes us out of being under their sway and dominance. Yet this is no easy thing like saying "I forgive you." Those words should be printed on the majority of our doormats. True forgiveness comes like the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. It is a hard and demanding process, nothing to be rushed by "being Christian."

Thank you,Rumi... I couldn't forgive ANYONE, including myself, until I finally allowed God into my heart, and took a few suggestions.
The freedom I was given is indescribable, having let go of all that useless junk.
To add,I'm now of use to people who may need a word or two of positive outlook.
Love the doormat idea.
Have a Good and Safe Memorial Day.
Love and Light... Billy
