I once heard that no good deed goes unpunished. This drove it home. And Arnold was so generous afterwards, he asked people to not listen to the ugly comments his assailant was saying to his security team (they moved in quick!), he asked people to concentrate on the good the program was doing.

Yeah, I myself was wondering why PR was so happy to see this since Arnold Schwarzenegger is himself a Republican. Let's put parties aside. I don't think anybody is happy to see this regardless of party. Why should they be? What has Schwarzenegger ever done to deserve this kind of treatment?

I kind of think that PR must have thought that Schwarzenegger was a Democrat. PR has come off as un-necessarily hateful of any Democrat so that might make sense.

Do we really think the color of the attacker's skin is what provoked this attack? Does the color of their skin hold any importance to the story? Should we really be focused on what color the attackers skin was?

Now I don't honestly believe that people, regardless of how racist or not racist they might be completely do not notice the color of one's skin, the non-racist ones just don't pay attention to it as it isn't important. In describing someone that did something a proper description does include any noticeable traits including skin color and/or ethnicity but for describing what happened in this story, it isn't necessary since I don't suspect there will be any manhunt for the guy who did this, except perhaps by the paparazzi. That guy is famous now.

Personally, I think his sentence would have been better written like so, "He is 71 years old and the nasty coward kicked him in his back!". There, that looks so much better.

Exactly, show me a situation where a coward takes a cheap shot and I don't care what their politics are... wrong is wrong and has no political orientation...and that goes for any for of wrong including political wrongs.
