Repent. Greek translation: Strong's Concordance

metanoeó: to change one's mind or purpose
Original Word: μετανοέω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: metanoeó
Phonetic Spelling: (met-an-o-eh'-o)
Definition: to change one's mind or purpose

Does this clarify anything for anyone?

No comments...from anyone?

I thought this would be intriguing! That's what I get for thinking...

Nothing is a waste, I've learned.

What is your point? Are you working on a dictionary?

Mike, I'm forever looking up words and their origins. Your post isn't un-interesting,It's just not in any context ( such as using it in an intriguing sentence ). No offense, but scrolling along and coming across this was like some poor old homeless guy mumbling on the street- corner. Keep 'em coming...

I could write a book on this word!

It is the first word commanded by Peter to Jews who had wrong ideas about Jesus.

Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of God, and neither he, nor any other apostle, nor even Jesus himself ever said, “come as you are”.

Let that sink in as compared to what you hear a lot of preachers in the radio and what not saying.

No other foundation can any man lay than that which has been laid!

Um, sure, I think. Not sure what exactly needed clarifying but yeah, repent. Got it.

Come as u are, meaning that God loves us and invites us to seek him and not wait till we are a better person! He comes in and changes us! Repentance comes with acceptance! He came to save sinners!

Maybe...it's a not-very-understood word. And you never know; it may become significant to a great many people before too long.

Words like that and posts like that make sense to the people who need them to..

We're involved in what may look like a political struggle but that's an illusion. This is a spiritual stuggle and there's a lot of misconceptions holding people back.

This was an experiment of sorts...to see who would be curious.

No...Jesus didn't say "come as you are". That would have included the Pharisees. He said stuff like "come if you're sick, poor, heavily burdened, weary, discouraged, searching, sinful, hopeless..."

How does the definition jibe with what you were taught. Does the Greek definition add to it?
