Mike - I'm more than a little confused by your post.

- The UK has a program called "No Outsiders" that educates children that though people are different in a lot of ways, everyone deserves respect.
- I cannot find any copy of the program or its components online, so I am unable to comment on its content. But apparently respect for LGBTQ people is included in the curriculum
- Some Muslims have protested the part that teaches respect for LGBTQ people.

Here is the part I do not understand about your post. You seem to have come to the conclusion that the article somehow indicates that "the left", as lovers of Islam, would take the same anti-LGBTQ stance as the Muslims in the UK, despite it being contrary to liberal ideals.

Help me figure it out, please!
