Depends on whether or not they are tax payers... I worked full time from the age of fifteen (and before , But under the counter) and I believe that I should have been able to vote...

Alternatively... Those who don't pay taxes should not be allowed to vote regardless of age...

No. If the voting criterion must be by age then I suggest 40. However, I believe the qualifications to vote should not be age but by being a U.S. citizen AND a tax payer of either real estate property or income taxes. An ID of citizenship and proof of being a tax payer a must.

No! Raise it back up to 21 except for those serving in the military who may vote at 18.

If you are old enough to go to war and get killed for your country, you are old enough to drink and to vote. That was what we wanted when we hated the war in Viet Nam. I didn't vote or drink (legally) until I was 21. So unfair. If i8 is the magic age for sacrificing your life for your country, it is the magic age for drinking and voting -- not 16 and not 21.

75% of the American youth are not qualified mentally, morally or physically for military service so if they're not qualified to serve why should they be extended the privilege?. Of the 25% who are qualified only a small percentage of them will serve in the military so why should they also be extended the same privilege as those who do serve? Currently 70% of our young people, thanks to a majority of Progressive teachers and professors who no longer teach civics, economics, and unedited history, believe in socialism. Personally I wouldn't want them near a voting booth until they get out into the "real" world wherever that exist any more.

Absolutely not they are not old enough to think like an adult yet they are still going on feelings and not rational thought.
