'I Want This Thing the Old Man Put Inside Me Taken Out.' 11-Year-Old Argentine Girl Denied an Abortion
The girl, who was raped by her grandmother's parter, requested an abortion
An 11-year-old Argentinian girl who was denied an abortion received a caesarean section this week, sparking a new debate about the country’s strict abortion laws.
The BBC reports that the child, who was raped by her grandmother’s 65-year-old partner, had requested an abortion. Confusion over the girl’s legal guardianship caused the a delay until her 23rd week of pregnancy, at which point doctors argued it was too risky to carry out the procedure.
The girl’s mother had approved an abortion, but since the child lives with her grandmother, the mother’s consent was deemed insufficient. The grandmother’s approval was also considered inadequate since her legal guardianship was terminated over her relations with the rapist.

Several doctors reportedly refused to perform the procedure due to personal beliefs. The baby was born alive, but doctors said its chances of survival are poor, according to the BBC.
Local media reported that the girl was clear about her desire to end the pregnancy. “I want this thing the old man put inside me taken out,” she told officials.
That the girl was forced to deliver the baby via c-section has caused uproar among human rights activists.
“When this 11-year-old rape victim entered the hospital requesting a legal abortion, the authorities’ number one duty should have been protecting her life and health. Instead, they put up obstacle after obstacle with the sole aim of denying the girl her rights,” Erika Guevara-Rosas, Americas director at Amnesty International, said in a statement.
While abortion is illegal in Argentina, a 1921 law allows the procedure in cases of rape or where a women’s health is in danger.
In August 2018, the Argentine Senate voted against legalizing abortion in the first 14 weeks of life.

An 11 year old is too young to make this decision. This bungling was not the fault of the doctors.

Is this somehow worse than killing babies full term? Or letting them die after they're born? Or giving animals more rights than the unborn?

How about these same "Human rights" groups that ignore other atrocities to women? Attacks on women's rights particularly in muslim countries? Young girls being raped in muslim countries?

You're calling the wrong people zealots.

Wow. That is just so typical of all the unwanted pregnancies here in the states! Nice that you have brought this up kevy!! LOLOL!

Given the choice of forced motherhood due to bad choices versus murdering a child, which do you think is morally right?

Most on the right support preventing pregnancy after rape. A post rape exam and treatment would prevent that. The Right is against killing a baby which is able to survive outside the womb, especially one that has survived an attempted abortion or birth.

Exactly! Why wouldn't they scream about the rape of a child??? Apparently that is ok.

I agree that the girl was too young to make the decision by herself... But the mother supported her decision...

The time involved led to the girl being placed in danger... That was most certainly the fault of the officials (both political and medical) involved...

The girl should have received the abortion immediately...
I hope she recovers and that the child has a chance as well...
May the Lord bless them both...
And may her rapist find a special welcome in the afterlife... Amen

I know of no human rights group that ignores the atrocities being committed in the middle east...

The entire thing is horrific, a child is at first raped by a monster and then the state, hamstrung by asinine religious dogma forces a child to carry a pregnancy and have a c section against her will. This child should have been allowed to terminate the pregnancy as soon as it was discovered as was her will and instead this mess of laws forced her continued suffering. The rapist should be tossed in prison and share a cell with the holier than thou politicians that forced the rest of this misery on this poor girl.

Easy for people who are pro-abortion to speak like this since they've already been born. The rapist should be castrated and tossed in a cell with others who would kill innocents.

You can't pretend to care about life while promoting killing life at its most helpless and innocent.

You should go down are straighten those Argentinians out.

Just tell them how you religiously support the murder of the innocence, born or unborn and abortion for any reason is holy to your deities Baal and Moloch.

Tell them that you religious zealots enjoy the perverted hedonistic ways of Baal and fix "the ensuing results" by sacrificing the babies to Moloch.

You zealots of abortion hide behind rape and incest, but actually believe that murdering innocence is your gods given right.

You people do not actually care about the poor girl who's grandma and her husband should be executed to set the good example of when to end a life.

Since you are so consumed with murdering an innocent baby, what did they do to the old man that raped the 11 year old? He should have been the one to get the death penalty by having a red hot poker slowly shoved up his ass and made die a slow, painful death.

Your such and advocate for murdering innocent babies, what about the 11 year old girls desire for what should be done to the bastard that raped her?

Leave it to the ELWNJS to always bring out an extreme very rare example to justify the murder of millions of innocent ones.

This young girl must have begun menstruation closer to age ten if the child was born when she was 11. A bit early. Nevertheless, two negatives do not make a positive except in algebra. Tragic, horrible, unthinkable, of course. What other excuses and justifications can you give for ending innocent life?
