Over a two-thirds majority of American voters want the report of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation to be released to the public once it is completed, according to the results of a new public opinion poll released on Wednesday.
The new POLITICO and Morning Consult poll found that 68 percent of Americans support the public disclosure of Mueller’s findings, while only 10 percent do not.

The poll found that the Mueller report’s release currently has overwhelmingly broad support from members of both parties. Fully 79 percent of Democrats support the release of the report to the public while just 5 percent do not, and 59 percent of Republicans support the release while only 18 percent do not.

There is a split between the parties, however, on deciding whether or not the Trump administration should be allowed to redact part of the report before releasing it to the public. Just 11 percent of Democrats believe the administration has the right to block out portions of Mueller’s findings, while 52 percent of Republicans believe it has the right to do this. Overall, just 28 percent of polls respondents said that they believe Trump’s Justice Department should be allowed to redact parts of the report.

POLITICO and Morning Consult pollsters surveyed American voters between Feb. 22 and Feb. 24 and the poll’s margin of error is 2 percent.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has been investigating whether Russia interfered in the 2016 election for nearly two years. The investigation includes looking at whether the Kremlin colluded with the Trump campaign in such a manner that it would constitute illegal conspiracy against the United States. Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that there never was any collusion between his campaign and Russia, and that the Mueller probe is a “witch hunt.”

Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen will testify to Congress on Wednesday and is expected to dispute the president’s denials that the campaign was in communication with Russia. If he does this, Cohen’s testimony will be consistent with other evidence of collusion which has been reported in the media.
Mueller’s investigation is overseen by the Department of Justice. It remains to be seen whether newly confirmed Attorney General William Barr will release Mueller’s findings. If he doesn’t, however, it will create

a political firestorm that would hurt Trump and Republicans. As today’s poll shows, Barr’s failure to release the report to the public would be a huge mistake, and against the will of the American people.

Of course it should be made public in its entirety. My belief is that Trump is guilty as sin of numerous crimes and that sunlight and transparency will lead to him being brought to justice. Trump supporters on the other hand believe that he is an honest plain talking truth telling man who is above reproach. I am sure people of that persuasion also want transparency so Trump can clear his name of ordering hush money payments and what Cohen called catch and Kill. It will exonerate Trump and his organization of dealing with the Russians, Russian Ukrainians and Mobsters. It will show that his business practices are and have been above board and that he and his family have properly paid their state local and federal taxes. Transparency will only let the American people know the truth wherever that leads us. It is unfathomable that anyone would want to have the truth hidden unless they don’t realy believe what they claim.

And why is it that the right believes people do not have a right to see it, and why the white house should be able to redact things that obviously are not good for Trump?

For the same reason they didn't want the public hearing yesterday.

I wouldn't worry about it. CNN will have it before Mueller has it and will certainly manage to let it slip out. LOL!

I also can't wait to see this much-vaunted report from the famous, completely impartial to a saintly level Mueller lawman. And then I look forward to watching all those who ranted and raved for the last two-plus years try to cover it up because it not only shows them up for the charlatans they are but gives our President even more ammunition with which to pummel these idiots into the ground for good and all. I am absolutely looking forward to that.

If Mueller had ANYTHING, it would have been leaked by now.

Precisely! That's why it's going to be so much fun watching the implosions when it's released! I really can't wait, and they're making all kinds of threats about what they'll do if it isn't made public. Love it!

They are also making threats about what they will do if it doesn't nail Trump! This will have no end. They will lose in 2020.

Yes, they will. And again in 2024, and again in 2028, and so on until they come to understand that there really is no such thing as a unicorn fart. It almost seems worth the pain of the Obama years now to see them like this.

Almost...

Think about how close I was to actually winning that bet compared to past midterm elections. We gained in the senate and as opposed to winning 60 to 70 new seats in the house, the dem's only got around 30 or so.

Perhaps we will have another bet soon.
