Alfie was a 23-month-old baby born in the U.K. with an unidentified degenerative neurological condition. Late last year, his doctors declared his condition beyond hope and announced that they were going to withdraw care. In other words, leave him to die.
Britain being a 'single-payer' healthcare employer, his parents were left to watch him die, because there was no alternative to the National Health Service they were forced to attend.
They didn't just lie there to be trodden on however, they stood up and fought for their infant son's life.

Those who advocate for socialized medicine here in the US are idiots. All they hear is "free medical for all". They're too ignorant to ask what comes with the "free". There is always some price to pay, ... even for free sh!t.
