Couldn't resist this one: I am so sick of hearing about the evil Koch Brothers. It seems they have some Democrat competition.

Now...now...You know the old saying concerning goose and gander is absolutely forbidden by Democrats. They, further, do not understand the pot/kettle saying either. It is upsetting for them that they no longer have all the billionaires.

The left is silent about the environmental violations of GE. But then again, GE supports Obama. No surprise, is it?

Nope, no surprise. After all, these are the same people who think that Ann Romney spending $1000 of her own money on a blouse is an example of elitism, but Michelle Obama spending $500,000 of our money on a vacation is just peachy.
Obama can say "you didn't build that," but we can say "you didn't pay for that." Most multi-millionaires (which the Obamas most certainly are ), pay for their own kids spring break vacation, rather than send the bill to the taxpayers.
I can't wait to read how this is the fault of either Bush, or the Koch Brothers.

Yep, Melita took 12 friends, 2 jets, and 32 Secret Service to Mexico for 'little' spring break. I wonder what entire floor or more that they occupied, of which pricey hotel.

Loki would you rather the opposing side be steam rolled over, that would be very fair would it. It is the same difference as calling someone out in a pistol duel and calling him a hypocrite if he were to defend himself against you with the gun. That is not proving the point of hipocracy that is proving the point of missing their message...completely.
Blaming the left for being hypocrite for supporting
Tom Steyer, who is won of the good guys btw, I've heard him speak and he supports America moving forward into new energy. What is wrong with that? Have you recently read about the towns that have gone water bankrupt through fracking, a million gallons of water used per fracking well. During this drought towns have lost their reserves through fracking. Not to mention the toxins being used.

Wouldn't you rather us be energy independent.

Wouldn't you help support someone trying to engage new growth here, not only in energy but also in transportation
and new infrastructure.

Personally, I am against this new unlimited corruptness of campaign funding, it has got to stop. My vote would be on the guy who would put that in place.

If you examine the cost per kilowatt/hour of different energy sources, renewables are at best a supplement. Wind turbines are of limited application, with the hydraulic fluid freezing in cold weather and the turbines becoming inoperable in extreme heat. Wind turbines aren't fined for harm to birds as oil spills are. When government chooses winn e rs and losers, the track record is poor. We get white elephants.

Anytime a new energy source is implemented there is somewhat of a learning curve, Check into hydro electric and the problems and expense that had to be overcome before its use, In the end it paid off big time, I think that the biggest hurdle to overcome in wind energy is the pay back time is too long for private investors, the fast money is in fossil fuel, short term profits over long term gains... As far as the Koch boys go, which side do you think they choose? had they spent their money on renewable energy instead of disputing global warming we as a nation would be better off today as well as tomorrow, energy independence is very important at this point in time for America and the Koch boys have the money to make a big difference in our future. If the wealthiest Americans who now have control of our system only do what's best for themselves, its game over for America.

your estimate is way off; probably closer to 5-7 million, depending on the planes used. Air force one is 200k/hour not counting anything else. Next time I'd go the extra bucks for a trip to Mali.Their trip to meet Mandela probably was close to 20,000,000.00

What's the difference between Ton Steyer, and the Koch brothers? They are both rich and use their money to promote their views. Yet the Kochs are trying to buy politics and Steyer isn't. Steyer's money and how he made it is never an issue.

This 1% Obama crap is old. There are just as many 1% liberals as conservatives.

Sooooo what? Steyer is stopping the Keystone Pipeline. That's a way bigger deal. Obama might have approved the deal by now because politically it would help him with the mushy middle voters and it would make the economy tick up, also good for him.

But the puppet master Steyer pulled Obama's strings and maybe the next President can do the right thing.
