DAD ARRESTED FOR OBJECTING TO SCHOOL PORN

On May 5, 2014, practicing attorney William Baer was arrested, for “disorderly conduct” at a Gilford New Hampshire High School meeting for going over the school board's “two minute rule”.

He was arrested by Gilford's acting police chief Lt. James Leach. Contact: j.leach@gilfordpd.org
Baer was released on $700.00 personal recognizance, and is due in court in June.

He objected to his ninth grade, 14 year old daughter being given mandatory reading of the book “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult, (specifically page 313), which describes in graphic detail a rape.
The book is supposed to be about a school shooting.

Parents had never been notified of the book, nor given the opportunity to opt out.

The school board apologized but added that it had been part of the school curriculum since 2007 and there had been no complaints.

If I lived in this area, I would be in jail with this gentleman. This book is totally inappropriate for a teen. What is wrong with these people?

Many states have made it almost impossible to home school your children. With the shape of our economy, many parents can not afford private school. This is an example of educating our young people? I hope these parents organize, picket, and vote out this so called Board of Education.

This disturbing trend of taking away all parental rights and then blaming the violence in our schools on the parents has got to stop.

I would not want my grand kids exposed to this filth. It is no more educational than a porn channel. Next I suppose this school system will show adult movies in its sex education classes.

I was allowed to opt out of sex ed for my child. I did. I wanted a few morals taught to my kid along with sex ed. I felt I was the best person for that job.

While I do not believe that this garbage should be outlawed for adults, I would loose respect for any adult that I knew was reading trash like this. Yes, according to many articles that I have read, this book and one that includes drug usage and homosexual group sex are part of the Common core requirement for middle school.

Why do I think BD, who thought the 40 year old teacher doing a full contact lap dance on a 14 year old was a wonderful idea, would like to have the next class activity after reading the book to be a class play of the scene?

Then the morons wonder why the STD rate is sky high and HIV in teenage boys, gotten from man boy sex for the most part, is becoming a major problem, and yet they promote this garbage
We don't need an outside fagent to attack our country it is here already and working very hard at its intended goal.

Not only do we have to pray for God's guidance in overcoming this atrocity, we have to listen to the answers and ACT on them.

So true it hurts! I had to do 2 days of research to glean the facts presented here along with pics. The pics were the most difficult to hunt down. What I found even MORE disturbing is that a number of web sites as well as the MSM have (deliberately?) misquoted the father, minimized the pornography, and mislead the reader to believe the father was "disruptive". All, BTW, leaving out the video for one to view for oneself. I originally included the rape scene quoted directly from the book, but was subsequently advised that making a direct quote could lead to legal problems. *sigh* Sorry folks. What does this have to do with Common Core? This was a decision made by the school board. I have two grandchildren under Common Core and I was asked by the parents if I'd check their books to see if I saw anything over the line. This would be over that line.
