Are deep state politicians like big Pharma?

Does anyone else cringe at all the side effects on advertised drugs? It’s appalling. And, for the record, I’m not claiming drugs never help.

But it hit me-

Deep state politicians (like Pelosi and Schumer in the current shutdown) are like big Pharma, they aren’t looking for ultimate cures, because there’s no profit in cures. How many decades have they (deep state politicians) had to solve the immigration problem? I’d say long enough to own the problem. Wouldn’t you?

How long have Pelosi and Schumer been in office and what have they done to cure the problem? And what are they proscribing now, an ultimate cure or an assured prolonging of an ultimate cure? Remember what stupidity is? Doing the same thing and expecting different results.

So not only do they own the shutdown, but they also own the whole immigration problem scandal! And now we know why: easy solutions take their power positions away... which, taking away such power, is the fundamental principle behind the American experiment of government. Ergo, power hungry politicians, ie Deep-staters like Pelosi and Schumer, are as unamerican as you can get. They are as bad as pill makers making people sick, while at the same time offering a way to mask the symptoms of their chief complaints...for a price!

So it’s no surprise that deep state politicians are as opposed to real solutions as drug companies are to organic health!

And leftist liberals applaud them all the way for being their saviors just like hypochondriacs seek sympathy, and pain killers, for their perceived ills!

An interesting and provocative post...
Not sure if I would target only Democratic politicians... But I can see the similarities...

Thanks for the insight...

If the shoe fits, right?

The example I gave was just the example that triggered the idea. When it applies across the aisles it should be so noted. I could be wrong, but I believe conservatives are a lot better at criticizing their own than libs.

I would tentatively agree with that evaluation...
Personally, I think that conservatives are simply more adept at accepting criticism... And therefore more likely to offer it...Thicker skins perhaps...
Liberals (in my opinion) are more touchy and have more of a tendency to claim victimhood... And more of a tendency to 'pack' together in(perceived) defense....
Although I would note that we are also prone to the 'herd' mentality...
I certainly am more likely to come to the defense of a fellow conservative than that of a liberal... A rather glaring flaw...

Your premise is still playing through my mind..
Truly, a most excellent post.

Great analogy. They even forget their own words of just a few years ago, and the MSM does not call them out on it!

Kirsten Gillibrand
On her campaign page in 2008, New York's virtual clone of Hillary Clinton, Kirsten Gillibrand, stated she is "a firm opponent of any proposal that would give amnesty to illegal aliens" and believed the "federal government must provide the necessary resources to secure our borders."

Hillary Clinton
Speaking of Hillary Clinton, she bragged in November of 2015 that, "I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in ... and I do think that you have to control your borders." https://youtu.be/AlFi0QUboxs

Elizabeth Warren
In May of 2013, a representative for Elizabeth Warren spoke at Boston City Hall regarding immigration reform, noting that the Senator supported legislation that "upholds our existing laws" and "maintains border security."

Barack Obama
President Obama praised legislation known as the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which included what he said “The bill before us will certainly do some good. It will authorize some badly needed funding for better fences and better security along our borders & that should help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country"

Chuck Schumer
Video from 2009 shows Chuck Schumer advocating for a fence along the southern border because it will be a "far more secure" means to creating a "significant barrier to illegal immigration."
"The American people will never accept immigration reform unless they truly believe that their government is committed to ending future illegal immigration," he added.
