Andrew Cuomo Defends Enabling Corruption

Something you just won't hear about from the MMSM (Moonbatty Mainstream Media).

Now that authoritarian New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared independence from the federal government, he can continue consolidating power in his fascistic fiefdom:

Despite the recent jailhouse parade of former aides, Gov. Andrew Cuomo insisted Thursday he was right in stripping the state comptroller of an oversight power that watchdogs say could have put the brakes on corruption in his administration.

He pulled pre-audit authority from Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, preventing him from preventing corruption by previewing contracts before they are signed. Cuomo justified this by barking that only investigations can find fraud, not audits. This is true enough in the present case, but only because the audits would have prevented the fraud before it could occur.

Affected programs at the State University of New York and its nonprofit subsidiaries…

…turned into a magnet for corruption that led to the conviction of two top former Cuomo aides — Joseph Percoco and Alain Kaloyeros — in the biggest bid-rigging scandal in state history.

John Kaehny is executive director of the government watchdog group Reinvent Albany. He notes that if allowed to do his job, the Comptroller would have noticed that Cuomo aides were rigging bids.

“You want to prevent crime, not investigate crime,” Kaehny added. “The governor’s living in an upside-down world.”

That fits with Cuomo’s upside-down moonbat ideology.

Just like a real science, political science has unbreakable laws. One of them is, the more power statists acquire, the more corruption you can expect.

Amazing in this day of budgetary woes none of the rats on Capital Hill seem to care where three trillion dollars went. Most book keepers would get fire if they couldn't account for 200 hundred dollars missing.
