I saw them at least four times when they were starting out. Back when concert prices were around $5.
Check out X Japan, especially the song Rusty Nail. Personally I think it is a classic. The Japanese hair bands destroy ours.

Ever hear of "Cosmos Factory" as opposed to "Cosmo's Factory" by CCR?
Cosmos Factory is a Japanese prog rock band that came out about 1973. Totally kick ass...even then.
Ever hear of The Seatbelts or Mai Yamani?
Ever see Guthrie Govan and his jam in Korea? The Korean back-up band kicks ASS.
That's why the Japanese and Koreans made such excellent guitars during the last 4 or 5 decades. There's a demand there.
