I've been reading this and watching a lot of politics for 2 years as I am ill and don't get out much. Most of what I see makes me a little crazy to think there are so many crazies running out country. We must get them out of office. I am alone here in the red state of Maine, no family, a few friends in other states. I am an independent minister though I haven't found a ministry. Also a
Reiki therapist and A Course in Miracles student/teacher. All of this is happening because we all are bringing it so we can be ready for a BIG CHANGE for the better, after seeing the worst of ourselves. I pray for America and the world, can't believe what I see but it's there. Why can't people just love each other?

I am having trouble loving people who want to take what I earn and give it to criminals. Should I love a judge who took away my wife and children and my house just because my wife is female? Should I be punished for being a faithful, loving husband and father, and should I not be angry that my wife is being rewarded just for being female, even though she is an adulteress, an alcoholic, and a narcissist?

There are a lot of bad people. That is why we can't just love each other.

I understand why you can't forgive these people for taking away the people you love. The only problem with holding hate and anger in yourself is that you don't hurt anyone but yourself. Hate is the opposite of love and when you live with hate for awhile, it defines you and everything you do. What you put out there always comes back to you. Always. I too have had times that I wanted and did hate my ex. It didn't hurt him, just me. If we can somehow get past our own anger and know that we all make mistakes, sometimes big mistakes, but (I don't want to offend anyone here) Jesus taught forgiveness. If God can forgive and we don't, aren't we saying that God is wrong? God is love and perfection. How can He/She be wrong? What God created is perfect and that is us, all of us. Not on the outside, but our souls. The outside is made by us and what is made is not perfect. Only what is created by a Supreme Being is perfect. What our eyes see and ears hear is not real, it is made up by our human selves. Our soul, the part we can't see, was created by a loving God. That is all that is true and all that matters.

What makes a "bad" person? What he thinks, says and does? That is the human part of all of us. We all make mistakes, some worse than others. That is all they are, mistakes. The word sin means mistake in Jesus' language, Aramaic. We have to learn to forgive our own mistakes before we can ever forgive anyone else's. If Jesus could forgive being nailed to a cross, I think we can somehow learn to forgive. It does not mean we condone their actions. It just means we know something in them has forced them to believe they are sinners, parents, society, etc. As they feel they are sinners, they do what they believe they are supposed to do as sinners who can't be forgiven.

I didn't say anything about not being able to forgive. You asked, "why can't people just love each other?" I took that to be a question and that you were looking for an answer. You seem to mean - people should just love each other instead of doing bad things to each other. If that is all you wanted to do was make a statement, I agree with that statement. If you want an answer to why people can't just love each other, the answer is that some people choose not to love, and they just want to make others suffer. The ones who suffer protect themselves from the ones who choose to hurt people and even are wise not to throw pearls before swine. The real solution might be to separate the people, and put all the people who choose to love others together and put all those who choose not to love others together. Until you do that, all people are not going to love each other.

Jesus commanded that we love, so you would think that it would be easy. But our struggle is not with each other. It's with evil.

People are manipulated by that which is evil, so thus they don't love as they should. Until the final battle when good overcomes evil, people will hate.
