Archie,
While cleaning out a file drawer I came across a note that you said in a post. Do you remember it
"I once had a gold fish that could breakdance on the carpet, but only for 20 seconds, and only once.
Made me think of Norbert- how is he doing, has he gotten a new girlfriend or is he still a single goldfish in a lonely tank?

I kind of remember that one.
It is funny how we connect with some people and some subjects so we have been able to have fun as well as get serious, isn't it? Some on line friendships are as strong as friendships in the "real world"

That was one of AuntiE's party's as I remember it. I don't remember what that party was for but I do remember Norbert and him getting a girlfriend and all and I do remember Archie and the one about the goldfish doing the breakdance. I laughed pretty hard when I read that.

LMAO! Yep, ole Norbie is still with us, and a single, successful guy with his own pad. He hasn't changed much, except for growing.
Actually, it was 4 years ago today that we rescued him from the county fair.
I guess living the carnie life at such a young age was traumatic for him. He's waaaayyy more of a misanthrope than I am.
Every time we try to get him out of his house for a visit, he throws this major fit. He flips, flops, and does all of this overly dramatic play acting until he gets his way, and we put him back in the water.
We don't have the wherewithal to hire a fish psychologist to figure out what's really bugging him, so we just feed him, and clean his house every now, and then.
Bless his heart!

Maybe Slats is a fish talker he claimed to be a cat talker when Mack the Cat came up in our conversation he may be a fish talker as well. Maybe we should enlist badbobby to see if could get Slats to help Norbert?

I think he's more the Jerry Springer type. He's dramatic.

He's a potential brawler?

No potential there. He is the Navy Seal/ninja of goldfish. With issues. But we like him, and get along well with him.
How many goldfish have you seen come home from the county fair who have lasted 4 years?
This fish is the nightmare Chuck Norris never dreamed he'd have.
Ole Juan Clod Van Dan pees himself at the mere mention of the name Norbert!
He is one badass goldfish!!

You are misinterpreting his behavior. There are people who travel in their motor homes and refuse to go anywhere without them. Norbert is the fish version of those people. Maybe you should get the OLD movie THE LONG LONG TRAILER and reassure him that there are people who have the same concept of home. But then turtles are really attached to their houses too, aren't they?

Do you remember when Norbert and Noreen got married? David drew a picture of the wedding and AuntiE posted it, along with the paintings Diane did of the wedding of a young man who was one of "our boys" of another counselor with whom we worked. LindaJoy recently posted many of those things on a thread for David the artist.

I think you're probably right.
I can't say that I've ever seen a turtle move out of his/her house.
Norbert has moved a few times because he deserved an upgrade due to his stellar personality.

There is only one time when I saw a turtle take off his shell and then put it back on. that was in the cartoon movie "Over The Hedge" a very funny movie which is also a great morality play.
