We just finished two weeks of travel runs for the Texas D.O.T.

A D.O.T. 'travel run' is a survey that gathers data specific to travel on state hiways from point to point and round trip journeys.

This phase of the survey used Houston as home base

The destinations were Amarillo, El Paso, Midland, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi and Brownsville.

We mount GPS and video devices on rental vehicles and each driver is provided a PDA to record additional data.

These same travel runs were done almost two years ago and will be done again after some of the current major road construction projects are complete.

Our drivers love the work and they all reported the same thing after these runs were completed

Our drivers report that every where you look in Texas towns, you will see ' Now Hiring' signs.

You will see major commercial construction projects, housing development on steroids and roadways packed with trucks transporting goods.

Neighborhoods are being built to resemble Shangri La and everybody is living like royalty.

I keep hearing some of our resident naysayers complaining about not seeing the proof of our booming economy.

Well Goobers, you can't see it because you don't want to see it.

And your self imposed ignorance is why the world is passing you by.

We hired 6 people for the Houston area late last year and our Austin headquarters added four new permanent positions early this year.

We were just awarded three contracts by the Louisiana D.O.T.
as they are about to conduct massive traffic surveys in Shreveport, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

But the temporary help we hire will be Louisiana citizens.

There are no travel runs included in that survey.

It will be mostly remote video and pneumatic traffic counts.

We will use temporary help in each city to conduct manual surveys using hand held devices.

If we get any travel runs that require extra help, I will notify you promptly.
