Interesting graphic on capital investment. Source: http://martinprosperity.org/category/research/research-insights/

In a sense, this is actually a picture of capitalism... as you can see, capitalism flourishes in the blue states more than in the red states. This seems to contradict the right-wing folklore that liberals hate capitalism. As if that isn't ironic enough, two industries that dominate the rhetoric of red state populism, farming and coal, are in fact subsidized by the government. A third industry that figures prominently in red state culture is the military, which is entirely a government-operated system. On average, red state workers depend more on government spending than blue states do, which technically makes them more socialist... despite their refusal to admit it. ;)

Even in the red states, it's their blue areas that prosper, like Austin or Raleigh.

Amazing finally someone on OPP that has posted on who relies mostly on the federal government. I have posted at times the states that receive more tax dollars compared to what they pay in federal Tax dollars in all cases it’s red states.
I have posted which states receive more entitlement dollars it’s always red states.
I have posted which states have the lowest level of education it’s always red states.
I have posted the average median income comparing Red states to blue states and in some cases it’s double. For example the poorest state is Mississippi with a mediam income of $36,919, look at Massachusetts with a mediam income of $75,297. I looked at the mediam income on average in the US which is now at $59,039 which grew 3.2% in Obama’s last year. Trumps 1st year under his tax cuts earnings for middle class only grew by .3%. For the upper 1% of wage earners it grew by 17% so trickle down is working great for the wealthy. So Obama grew wages by 3.2% in his last year and Trumps grew by .3% with his tax cuts. Below is the countries ratings of mediam income as you can see it’s all red states. These states are all below the average.

States that receive the most federal Tax dollars as you can see it’s red states by a far margin.

Most blue states pay federal taxes and in return receive less than they pay. I undrstand a lot of Blue states have a higher state tax but what right wingers don’t understand they invest in there citizens when it comes to education, Healthcare, feeding the poor, that’s why blue states have better economy’s than red. The bottom 5 red states if it were not for the Blue states paying more federal tax dollars and giving it to red states they would be bankrupt.

The use of the word capitalism versus socialism but Blue states invest in there capitalist by educating there people. That’s why capitalist want to invest in blue states.

Socialism is a simple explanation you tax you’re citizens and you use those tax dollar to invest in you’re capitalist in the form of subsidies, tax credits, and if you go through the right wing agenda who receives the most subsidies. Defence is the largest with tax dollars going to Defence contractors who are capitalist. (SOCIALISM/CAPITILISM. That’s just one example of how the right wing hides from there socialist agenda. How about farm subsidies, how about tax subsidies, there is a thing called corporate welfare. This country thrives when there is equal balance of socialism and also protect capitalism. So socialism is not a dirty word because capitalism and socialism is the only way to protect all citizens. It gives this country a balance between rich and poor. We all get a fair share. So Trumps tax cuts is a clear agenda of how Trump tripped the scales using socialism to give the upper 1% more tax dollars and just throw it on the deficit. Our deficit is massive because of the right wing agenda. (WARS) ( WEALTHY TAX CUTS) ( MASSIVE INCREASES IN DEFENCE SPENDING) (TAX LOOPHOLES THAT BENIFIT THE WEALTHY)

But yet the red states continue to vote republican and I can only come up with one reason they are racist and they love there racist president no matter how many tax cuts he gives to the wealthy (DON’T MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, JUST MAKE ANERICA WHITE)

Of course... Never mind the data... never mind the lessons that can be learned from it. Just cry foul because it's not what you want to hear.

Gotcha. ;)

Exactly. The dichotomy is pretty obvious. For whatever reason, liberal politics consistently come from strong capital markets where you find things like innovation and diversity. Conservative politics consistently come from weak markets where you find things like dying industries and people clinging on to their old "ways of life" neither of which are attractive to capital investment.

Yup... I have too. As you probably know, they call those states that give more to the federal government than they take, "giving" states. I often use California as an example, because California has ALWAYS paid more tax to the federal government than it takes, which is why it's so funny when Trump threatens to cut off federal funding to California, as if he could do that without running the risk of retaliation, in which case the U.S. government would loose. Red states can't do that, which is why they are so subservient.

Precisely. In fact this is why Obamacare is failing in states like Kansas, because the politicians do nothing to stop companies from monopolizing the health care market in their states. Meanwhile, Obamacare is a major success in states like California and New York where the markets are stronger and more competitive. That's because Obamacare is a market-based solution... as in capitalism. Of course conservative culture leaders will be try to counter this reality with urgent messages about how "socialist" Obamacare is.

I have to admit it get's harder and harder to give the populist movements on the right the benefit of doubt and I think for many of them bigotry (racism being the most common form) is the only possible explanation for anyone to continue supporting bad politicians. But I had a revealing journey this past week. I drove from San Francisco to Philadelphia and I monitored the radio spectrum along the way. In the spaces between the blue, I found the radio entirely dominated by right-wing propaganda. I mean shows, where they *talk* like experts about complete utter BS and of course it's always about those "loony liberals".

I listened to about 36 hours of right-wing opinions, just looking for reasons to put faith in what they are saying. In the end the only thing I was able to put faith in is that a LOT of people have probably NEVER been exposed to the rational thinking of liberal politics and instead form their opinions about liberal politics entirely from fabrications they get from people like Glen Beck. So, maybe not all of them are bigots, maybe a lot of them are just plain ignorant. You might point out that ignorance has to be damned close to stupidity to actually think for instance that our deficit can be blamed on entitlements but these radio shows make it pretty clear that stupid ignorance is something they play on.
