How in the hell do 'gun grabbers' think we won our independence from the English? It was at the point of a gun, you effing idiots.
What? you thought that we went to Parliament and asked them, Can we be free of your rule since we are not represented here any way and they granted us our Independence, NOT SO, SO NOT SO.
The English soldiers were on their way to confiscate out guns and ammunition, when we ( as a group) decided that that was not going to happen, and it was called "The shot heard 'round the World" at the Concord Bridge. I believe that every battle fought and 'lost' by us in the first yeas of the War for Independence, was because of instructions given by the English govt. to seize our guns.
Bunker (Breeds) Hill, Concord Bridge, The Battle of Lexington, etc., We 'lost' almost every battle fought by us against the Brits, but in losing those battles, we cost the Brits more than they were willing to lose. SO, WE WON THE WAR, at the point of a gun.
And now we are 'free country' full of an armed citizenry, that we may stay that way and protected from those who would take our FREEDOM, or ROB us of our property. It not just out right kill us.
So, LEAVE OUR GUNS ALONE, THAT YOU MAY ENJOY THE LIFE OF A FREE SOCIETY!!!

Biased reporting has the American public reacting rather than thinking.

Stricter Gun laws?

Well I do think we need to ad some restriction. The one change that I think makes sense is to create a NO FLY LIST for gun wold be gun owners. The ones that need to be on it I think are people who have a mental problem and those who have been fond guilty of a felony by an open court of law. No one else should have to be checked for any reason. The gun shops need only consult the registry to see if your name and identity appears and if it does not just go ahead and make the sale right there and then. The registry does not become public property and only those who have a need top know would have access to it. That is the only change the needs to be instituted.

Who do you think determines who is and is not fit to have a gun? The establishment. As a retired Social Worker I have seen the DSM (diagnostic & Statistical Manual) go through editions II, III and VI and now a new one is coming out. In each change they broaden terms and definitions of disorders. The same is for medical disorders. Based on critics I have read one major reason is the pressure that the medical-Industrial establishment puts on the authors so that more drugs and other devices can be used. There is some change based on research and new findings, but a lot is subjective and for the sale of medication treatment. Also one medical agency is totally under the control of the government which is the veterans administration medical centers and they are already sending out letters to veterans without valid medical justification. If you check the media you will see there are many problems with the VA. Basically if you want to keep your job you do as told without regard to the truth.

Well I do know about some of what you say. I am not and have never been involved in social work so I don't know a lot about that area. I'm was just speaking in generalities which I know can be dangerous. Especially with an adminstration such as we now have. But the problem with the people that have committed mass murder I am sure have some kind kind of mental illness and that does need to be addressed when considering punishing law abiding citizens because someone used guns in this case to cause innocent people to die. Our founding fathers placed this Second Amendment there in our constitution for good reason.

But I do thankyou for your thoughts as to who is to judge who is mentally ill, and the flagrant way in which illness is diagnosed. I just hope there would be some consideration along this line.

One thing about lawful gun owners not touched upon so far here is that they were the main deterent that kept the Japanese from invading our shores at the start of WWII. The reason was that they thought better of such a thing due to the fact of so many people had guns here. They just knew it would be very dangerous to even try. They might have gained a beach head but then the patriotic hunter would have begun shooting them and their trained armys would have been anihilated very quickly. So to disarm the citizenry is to commit national sucide. Oh yes we have a very strong military but with armed hunters who know how to use their guns and have comoflage and know the terrane well any army entering our country had better be here as friends and not foes. Partiots when faced with invasion become dangerous to invaders. I begin to wonder however why our veterans and Christains who faught in our military for freedom are now called terrorists and dangerous to our country? The only thing that comes to mind is someone is afraid they might be found out to be domestic enemies and be hunted as such because they want to take away our freedoms. I wonder who that might be?
