We have trust in the people who we trusted when the worked for us, it is strategically and respectfully wise to seek second opinions or advice from retirees who've had many years of experience. especially when you're completely ignorant and inexperienced of the inner workings of what really goes on. It's a lot different than hosting a game show, or a board meeting you control.

Obama's remark wasn't flippant, the right was so defensive that they didn't comprehend the true meaning of the remark. I will explain...it was meant that all of us do nothing completely alone, we depend on others for it to go from beginning to end, from the paved roads we build, cargo boats, to truckers shipping merchandise, to the people who make the product, to electricity and machinery at the plants, to finally the consumer who buys it. His message that passed by you was that we need each other to be successful. He wasn't taking anything away from anyone.

You also misunderstand that I was not referring to our spiritual faith, but faith in our country's ability to govern. He is creating distrust, distrust in the news, distrust in our representatives, distrust in government organizations and programs and finally distrusting other Americans. This is a malicious strategy that clearly has an agenda of destruction of our democratic republic, you just don't want to see it.

When I refer to ' our people ', I literally mean every single citizen that presently resides in this United States that is an American citizen.

And that includes some of our poor wetbacks but is inclusive only of those who are of Mexican descent.

We owe them poor pepper bellies for takin' Texas and California from them.

But Ma'am, distrust and divisive behavior has existed here in America since long before you ever heard of a guy named Donald Trump.

Presidents have been assassinated because of it.

A civil rights leader was murdered because of it.

Obammy got elected because of it.

And yes, Trump got elected because of it.

A very bloody ' civil war ' was waged because of it.

So give us a break....... ma'am

Trump just got it dumped into his lap and his only fault is that he just doesn't know what to do with it.

And neither does any of the rest of us wall eyed Goobers.

Yes, you're correct, it has always been around and on both sides, but that's not the point, or at least my point I'm trying to make, which is that right now, the divisive verbiage coming

from our own president, it's extremely destructive to our country's unity, hence our country as a whole. Have you listened to any of that coming out of his mouth? How do you think that

has the rest of us Goobers feeling? Possibly outraged? We love this country, we're are just as patriotic, have worked, fought and lost family for this country also. He has no excuse, no

little they're picking on me BS, so I'm gonna fly insults, he needs to buck up and understand why people are upset, and it is because of his actions, his words. If people have fears, it is up

to the leader to calm the masses not to inflate their anger. He's doing the very opposite of what he should be doing, why do you think that his?

William H. McRaven, a retired Navy admiral, was commander of the U.S. Joint Special Operations Command from 2011 to 2014. He oversaw the 2011 Navy SEAL raid in Pakistan that killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Dear Mr. President:

Former CIA director John Brennan, whose security clearance you revoked on Wednesday, is one of the finest public servants I have ever known. Few Americans have done more to protect this country than John. He is a man of unparalleled integrity, whose honesty and character have never been in question, except by those who don’t know him.

Therefore, I would consider it an honor if you would revoke my security clearance as well, so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency.

Like most Americans, I had hoped that when you became president, you would rise to the occasion and become the leader this great nation needs.

A good leader tries to embody the best qualities of his or her organization. A good leader sets the example for others to follow. A good leader always puts the welfare of others before himself or herself.

This letter says it all really, for many of us.

Trump continues to tear down our faith in our people, and governing.

Admiral ... As you requested, on behalf of the American people I revoke your clearance immediately. You obviously don't want it, so our country won't burden you with it any longer. I behalf of the American people, thank you for your service, especially the way you and your team took down Osama bin Laden. Please let me emphasis, revocation of your clearance does not stop you from voicing your opinion about anything under the rights all Americans have under the 1st Amendment.
Signed ... SCPO, USN, Retired

So, when some background on a situation from the past is needed, there is no one to talk to.

Um ...yeah...they haven't thought that far ahead...Now I guess when Mattis retires there'd be no reason to call on him.

If we entrusted them with the security of our nation, while in service, why would we not give them the same consideration later when retired and consult for free?

You think they consult for free? Nobody does anything for free now.
Well, except me.
But I'm a dumbass.

Your All Or Nothing attitude is illogical. Advice can be given without clearances. If it requires the person reading new, classified material, a temp clearance can be issued.

You're a dumbass? I don thin so, probably generous to a fault more likely, but you're right it's probably not for free unless they're having a nice conversation in the study sipping brandy or something, ah heck it's still "time" spent as a right off.

They would likely be consulted on classified matters but it would be illegal to talk to them if they do not have clearance to be consulted.

LOL...

You don't know how this works, do you?

They don't have to keep a security clearance to tell you background information they already know...

You should think before you post.
