There are times when I run across an article that touches my heart and I have a deep need to share. This is a story about Boomer and his rescuer Tia. https://people.com/pets/hiker-carries-lost-dog-down-mountain/ There is one paragraph that touched me....

"It got to the point where my neck and legs were in so much pain and I was so scratched up and tired, I didn’t think I could go on carrying Boomer," Vargas tells PEOPLE. "I was in tears, thinking that I’d have to leave that dog behind. And I didn’t want him to die.

After saying a silent prayer, "I suddenly felt like somebody had walked up behind me and lifted Boomer off my shoulders." "I haven’t had a dog in 15 years, but Boomer is part of our family now," I feel like there’s a reason why I was on the mountain at the very moment that he needed somebody to help. Both of us had a guardian angel that day."

G*d sends angles in many shapes and forms.

What a heartwarming story Pennylynn. I just had to have my English Mastiff (Bubba) put down. He would have been 12 in December. He developed cancer in his hind end and was hurting and wouldn't take his pain pills.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Our four legged friends are more than pets, they are friends who share our innermost dreams and wishes. I am happy that Budda had you in his life, no matter how brief. I am sure when he left, he knew you did the most loving and personally painful act out of concern and affection for him. I work rescue, there are times when an animal has to be given the final sleep.... I always hold them and afterward I cry, not for them but the hole their absence means for those who knew them. There are times when love demands to be let go. G*d bless my friend, I hope you will find another friend who needs your special love.

It is a pleasure working for these guys.... I have seen animals make remarkable recoveries and I have placed many in forever homes. The connection between these guys and their families is magical. I think my life would be of poor quality without the rescue work.

Come on man - what's the problem. God is spelled GOD - NOT G*d. Either believe in God or not. However, if not, don't insult the rest of us who do with this PC spelling. Seems Y*u need an angel to rescue Y*u from the "angles" of the PC world. And BTW, God does not send angles, God sends angels.

I am horribly sorry for offending you. I see that you have not been here long, so welcome to OPP. I hope you are enjoying the discussions and I will make an honest effort to read your past comments or threads. Again, welcome and thank you so much for pointing our the wrong word usage.

But just so you know on some sites just the act of putting GOD in the message will get you super trouble or some might just being considerate to those who do not believe so if your also our detention teacher give it a break and calm down

Penny, I'm surprised you even responded to that jerk. Please don't bother explaining to him why you spell G*d that way. Let him try to figure it out for himself. Have a Blessed day. Mike

Mike,

Let us cut him/her some slack. The could be a thousand reasons for the response.
Perhaps they don't like dogs, if that was possible. Could be that spelling and grammar is their pet peeve. Or just having a bad morning. I am all in for second chances. Remember I am an eternal optimist.... everything happens for a reason.
