Central Eurasia health care delegation visits Fox Cities

It appears central Eurasian nations are advancing forward and developing toward societies much like our own...who would have thought areas south of Russia and north of Afghanistan, a region so unknown and far from events is readying to join the 'advanced' nations. The world of tomorrow will have many new advanced nations.

The following local news story appeared on p.7A of the Green Bay Press Gazette today, April 10, under headline "Health Care Delegation Visits Fox Cities":

"Appleton--International health care deleates will be in the Fox Cities today and Friday to gain insight into health care best management best practices and tour facilities.

The Fox Cities Regiional Partnership will host nearly 20 delegates from the Special American Business Internship Training Hospital Administration program. The mid- to senior-level health care executives from Azerbaian, Georgia,Kazakhstant, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Ukraine began their tour March 28 in Washington, D.C.

'We're excited to host this prestigious delegation and have teamed up with our region's world-class organizations to share their experiences and knowledge with the group,' Larry Burkhardt, executive vice president at Fox Cities Regional Partnership, said in a statement...

The U.S. Department of Commerce is coordinating the group's visit...Fox Cities was selected for its national reputation as a national leader in providing high quality health care at low cost.

The delegates will visit with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Fo Valley, the Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley , Neuroscience Group, Affinity Health System at St.Elizabeth Hospital, ThedaCare at the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, Neurospine Center, and Fox Cities Technical College's new Health Simulation and Technology Lab.

Discussion topics will include financial management, new medial technologies and risk management, equipment manufacturers, relationships with insurance companies, medical ethics and conflict resolution, and doctor and patient rights."

Perhaps this delegation tour has minor connection to geopolitical maneuvering but its main significance seems to be its revelation of East European and-West Central Asian national aspirations in advances in health care and practical considerations in achieving goals through management, equipment, etc.

In our focus on regional geopolitical situations, we fail to realize the reality and situation of these relatively new national identities and practical matters there of economic development and advances in organization, services, etc.

I'm uncertain how this small event 30 miles south of Green Bay relates to Ukraine geopolitical issues that have been a major subject focus on OPP since the beginning of February, but posted the local event as a small ordinary matter of possible interest and larger perspective in relation and contrast to those slanted anti-America and pro-Putin New Russia fascism Ukraine & Russian neighborhood subject postings.

They should have invited at least one Rep. to explain how screwed up our health care system really is. I'm sure they won't visit Doctors, people who lost their insurance, the cost increases, or hospitals that are no longer on the provider list. What a scam.

Your propaganda shots at our health care system is a political scam of sorts itself, Rickshaw. The visitors are studying the structures and advances in treatments made possible in our health care system. And they are probably well aware of high costs, uncovered persons, and various shortcomings in our system.

Most of the visitors probably will opt for universal health care on a more limited scale as in Europe...not because they don't want something as advanced in practice as here but will act within their present circumstances and rely on our inventiveness for advances toward better. Invention is costly...and we're the only ones with circumstances to afford the degree of advances in health care right now. The inventions themselves become universal. My doubts about the Affordable Care Act measures is that investment in healthcare invention could be curtailed as the system cuts costs to be affordable and that we will end up with less invention and advances in health care. Possibly over worried about that scenario. We little appreciate both how advanced our health care system is and the extent to which the world looks to our clinics, labs, companies for invention.
