"All 50 states are listed across the top of the Lincoln Memorial on the back of the $5 bill."

NOT! Where did that idea come from? Not by any stretch. When the Lincoln Memorial was constructed (dedicated in 1922) the names of all 48 states were engraved on it. The picture of the Lincoln Memorial on the $5 bill only contains the names of 26 states, the ONLY ones that can be seen on the front side of the Lincoln memorial which is what is pictured on the $5 bill.

"There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar."
Another trivia along that line is, 'You can have as much as $1.19 in change (not counting a dollar coin) and not have change for a dollar.''

Just checked two five dollar bills under 10 power magnification, both somewhat worn and difficult to read but I got a count of 27 after four tries. It may be a case of a two name state being counted twice.

Try just reading the words, don't let your sound effect it. You're probably mispronouncing sliver OR silver. Then there is river, beaver, shiver, and walla walla bing bang.
