Once they buy the tools the all you need are powder, wads, primers, and slugs. Most ot the casings can be refired for several times before they are cast aside. You can even buy new casings if you want. I really don't know what all of the materials would cost today but I would figure that ther reload would cast about 1/2 to 3/4 of a factory load. If yyyou do any serious target work then reloading is the way to go. I know I reloaded some field loads when younger and I gave a couple of boxes to my Uncle that lived in Grande Maria Minnesota. He came back to Rockford where I lived and he asked me what I put in those shotgun shells. I asked him why and he said that he had a bear rummaging through his garbage pails out back of his house so he took his 12 GA. and fired at that bear. He said that the bear rolled over three times and got up and lumbered off and never returned. It was just a standard field load is all that it was,

I am not up on the reloading but I know a little from what the men related to me.

They have a friend at the police firing range that gives them buckets of fired casings. They clean and reload a lot for the sheriffs department for practice. They make money like this for additional supplies.

There's two old civil war brass cannons here that see a lot off celebrating service. I wasn't aware you could still buy black powder but they found a source. I am not sure if they have any cannon balls. God I hope not. 😆😎
