In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Trump Administration is now separating immigrant families at the Mexican border, then keeping children in concentration camps. This is a national emergency which demands everyone’s attention. Silence in this moment of need is effectively complicity. There is no nuance to this debate. It is good versus evil, as demonstrated by the doofus scion of evil: Donald Trump Jr.
@TrumpsAlert is a Twitter bot which tracks the Twitter activity of every member of the Trump family. Don Jr. is extremely online, and this bot has been helpful in letting us know what the first family is doing. “Liking” a tweet doesn’t necessarily mean you approve of it (I use it as a bookmark), but this is also not the first time he’s liked a tweet accusing a child going through serious trauma of being a crisis actor. The Breitbart story doesn't link to the supposed New Yorker article—because there's no evidence it exists—and it simply parrots what white nationalist Barbie (Ann Coulter) pulled out of her ass on Fox News. This is standard right-wing thought these days, and even though this all may seem trivial, consider the completely unfounded conspiracy theory lifted from Reddit by Gateway Pundit, parroted by Fox News' Lou Dobbs, then tweeted out by the President of the United States.
This is America. We are governed by the Republican Party—meaning that the main determinants of their reality (white people on Fox News, YouTube and AM radio) claim that reality doesn’t exist. We are dealing with the only people in the developed world who believe that climate change is a liberal plot to destroy the economy, that fences linked by chains aren’t cages, and we have to torture children in order to keep our society safe from MS-13 gang members. This is pure evil being propagated by an army of useful idiots, and it is your civic and moral duty to oppose it. Call your representatives. We must use what’s left of our democracy before it gets swept away in this wave of white nationalism.
