Worldwide, increasing numbers of people are fleeing from countries affected by war, extreme poverty, violence (gang and personal), disease, lack of opportunity, natural disasters, or oppressive governments. The large numbers are causing big problems for host countries.
Perhaps we are passing the point where individual countries can solve the problems caused by massive migrations. Certainly individual countries should continue to enforce their own immigration laws. We should also begin to think about how to work with other countries to control the flow of immigrants.

First you say the pics are from 2011 or 2014, then that Trump created the problem. Do you not find your statements at all contradictory? Or are you saying Trump was holding Obama, or his administration, at gun point in 2011 to 2014?

i thought that all interested people knew the context.. Sorry, you do not..
the pictures from 2011 to 2014, or so.... are from that huge surge orchestrated by organized crime. It overwhelmed our capacity.. Hence the pictures showing form pads for beds and wire fencing for security..
this led the Obama administration to spend on facilities for the future possible rush on the border.. That results in the pictures of the new facilities which approach dorm like qualities.
As for the separation of kids now... that is all trump and his band or orange men.. both Bush Jr and President Obama considered the option and did not use it..
trump is separating the kids and using them for blackmail to try and get his wall financed...

Erect a 'sweep' above railroad tracks entering the U.S. Put a steel bristle brush about 6" above the height of the usual rr car that will sweep off any debris on top as it passes under. Above the brush would be a steel plate with razor wire edges to prevent cheating.

One of the problems with catch and release is that knowing they will be released on their own recognizance does not deter others from breaking the law in coming here illegally. They only have to not comply with coming back for court and then avoid getting picked up by ICE. So If our gov can handle dealing with the numbers being detained, it is better to do away with catch and release in my opinion.
As for the kids, I see three categories. Those who come unaccompanied. Those who are accompanied by felons. And those accompanied by adults who have no past deportations or other charges. The latter will be charged with a misdemeanor of crossing our border illegally.
The first are not separated from their parents by our officials. That happened before they crossed our border. These kids are at high risk for being used in the sex trade or joining gangs. So intervention is very important.
The second group seems pretty clear cut to me. A felon is sent to prison or deported. If deported immediately their kids are not separated and are deported with them. If sent to prison the kids are certainly NOT sent to prison with them, so are separated from them.
In the third case either the adults make no asylum requests and are immediately deported with their kids. Or they request asylum and are put on the waiting list for immigration court. In the past at this point they would be released and told to report for their court case. Now they aren't released but detained. These detention centers are being expanded or new one being built. The plan for family units is in the works. But for now they are more like jails. Again it is against our principles to lock up kids who are not charged or even suspected of a crime. So they are separated.

BUT;
Trump should back up one step, and refine his position on "no tolerance".
THEN continue to show this border problem was created by laws in place for decades.
The liberal "news" media and RINOS are ignoring this.
NOW it is time for Congress to correct the immigration laws, that are used to flood this country.
