The sarcastic ass in me says to ask Trump since he's the one who made the move... He's the one who thought it was worth $250,000 of our tax money, ignoring the advice of his advisors and allies and the violence he knew it would cause. But the real answer to your question is actually, I think very important to understand, so thanks for asking and I'll try to give you the best answer I can.

Jerusalem is in occupied territory. That's probably all the answer you need; I'm sure you can figure out the rest from there, but I'll elaborate a little...

Palestinian Perspective:
First of all, that occupied territory is home to a demographic we know as Palestinian. Ignoring the contrasting opinions about how legitimate these people are, the fact remains that "whoever" they are, they are being displaced... forced to leave their homes and their farms to make room for the Israeli occupation. So it's understandable that they would resent any foreign endorsement of that occupation, which is exactly what Trump did by moving the embassy there.

U.S. perspective:
The reason why this hasn't been done before is that every president from Truman to Obama understood the importance of maintaining a neutral position on Israel because that maintains our ability to function as a peace broker. Some folks might think is wussy shit, but when you consider the assets the U.S. is trying to protect in the Middle-East, it does actually make sense to keep the flame under the Israeli-Arab conflict as low as possible.

But... like so many complex issues, this one appears to have flown right over the head of the most unqualified president in U.S. history.

International Perspective:
Every country that isn't crushingly dependent on the U.S. for aid has condemned Trumps decision because in simple terms he is endorsing an occupation that violates international law. So by registering their dissent they are in a sense upholding the integrity of international law.
The sarcastic ass in me says to ask Trump since he... (show quote)

I stop short of sympathy for him too. It's one thing to be ignorant by chance, quite another to be willfully ignorant in order the preserve one's prejudice, especially when that prejudice supports the oppression and killing of people for unjust reasons.

Year after year, decade after decade, I've watched opponents to Israel's policies emphasize exactly what they are opposing, not the state of Israel, not the Jewish people, but the Zionist policies. Year after year, decade after decade I watch people like Blade insisting that the opponents are "anti-Israel" and "anti-Jewish" (or because they think it sounds more intellectual and don't actually understand the term, they say "anti-Semitic").

If after 70 years they STILL haven't learned what the opponents are saying, or at least what the term Zionism means, it's hard to believe it's a matter of education.

I find it ironic when the two of you talk prejudice... unfortunately most humans are prejudice in one way or another including me... with that said here are some simple truths... the Arabs are and have always been the aggressors towards Israel... Israel has accepted a two state solution from the start where as the Arabs have not & declared a war... The Arabs were defeated every time and still provoke war.. Israel has returned occupied land in trade for peace only to be attacked again unprovoked ... both people have equal rights to live there... Gaza is run by Hamas a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood who in 1928 declared Palestine Arab only land & declared holy Jihad on all non Muslims... It is Hamas who imprisons the people of Gaza not Israel... Israel defends against Arab aggression & the Arabs lose & suffer every time...Arabs teach their children hatred & death toward Israel... Israel teaches math & the sciences to over 1 million Arab children in Israel as well as their own children... I agree Trump was foolish moving the embassy inciting more hatred from Arabs who are all about hate from childhood... Brainwashing children to hate promotes the lack of freedom in Gaza & prevents a two state solution...

You go though some great lengths to say nothing blade. What makes you think that land has to be dedicated to one religion or the other anyway? And if Jews are scattered all over the world what makes you think they lack places to live?
I never said the Jews lacked places to live. It is obvious that the Muslims have no lack of places to live. Islam dominates a vast region of North Africa, the ME, and all of Indonesia, many millions of square miles to live in. The Israelis, OTH, have about 8000 square miles that they call their home, and rightly so.

So, genius, tell us why the Muslims need another 8000 square miles of land? What is there that they can't find in all the lands they already inhabit?

Why don't you show us the map of the Zionist's dream? When anti-Semitic Jews (and others) hijacked Zionism, they did so with the Protocols in hand. It is not Israel's goal to seek world domination, that is the goal of Islam. There are 14.5 million Jews on earth today as opposed to 1.9 billion Muslims. 6.5 million Jews are Israeli citizens, the remaining are scattered all over the world. So, tell us, genius, even if all 14 million Jews on earth united behind the single objective of world domination, how in the hell would they overcome the enormous odds against them?

Go back to sleep, Nik, see if you can dream something up that makes sense.

About our enemies in the ME, the United States was just a teenager, working hard to establish its place on the world stage, and our 3rd president had to send the US Navy to deal with our Muslim enemy who was hijacking American trade ships off the Barbary coast.

Most generally, when you say "bigot" you are referring to anyone with the temerity do disagree with your pronunciamentos.

Well, thank you for telling me what I think Loki... But as usual you're wrong. In this case, I am using the term to to describe a regime in Israel that that according to South Africa's statutory research agency the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) "exercises control in the [Occupied Palestinian Territories] with the purpose of maintaining a system of domination by Jews over Palestinians and that this system constitutes a breach of the prohibition of apartheid."

You can deny all you want... You can point your finger at as many other bigots as you can... None of that changes the fact that Israeli policy, especially in occupied territories, puts Jews and Palestinians in two different classes treating one with kindness and the other with intolerance.

I just don't see the point in inciting the problem... If the Jews & Arabs are to ever come together it won't be from moves like this...

Be cause Jerusalem is in occupied territory that's why The US embassy all these years was in tele vive as past leaders have tried to at least appear to be non partisan in that mess. The 1967 war was sold to the world as a necessary preemptive war because the Arab countries were preparing to attack Israel. It was a lie the purpose of the war was to take and occupy the West Bank and Golan Heights. The worlds countries should gang up on the Zionists and Kick them out of these areas and rip out the Jewish settlements out of the west bank by the roots and give the land back to the Arabs and give them half of Jerusalem and grant them state hood

As long as Islam exists there will never be peace between Muslims and the rest of the civilized world. If Israel and all the Jews on earth simply vanished, would the Global Islamic Jihad end?

A. read your history, there are no 'Palestinian' people. These so-called Palestinian's came to Israel to work after it's founding and fled when Israel was invaded. Since their native countries don't want them back they've created this false identity. As they vow to kill every Jew the Israeli's have every right to defend themselves, screw the restraint ! Set up 50 caliber machine guns and mow down the would be invaders. Take your crocodile tears and use them to wipe yourself.

SPOT ON! Thank You
