No, bulldog mix.
Father is American bulldog, and mother is Pit Bull. He favors his mother.

Oh, he's a bright one alright! He knows he's not supposed to be on the furniture, but he felt the need to stalk me while I was eating a bowl of cereal. He was being a Mr. Smartypants is what he was doing!

He's actually not that big. The picture is deceptive. Not on purpose, but I cropped it to get rid of the surrounding junk. It's the best picture I have of him so far. I wish I could catch him putting on his Ernest T. Angry face (as my wife calls it) It's hilarious!
He's between 70, and 80 lbs now. I'll know better when I run him by the vet next week and weigh him so I can get his medicine for heartworms, and ticks.
And, yes, that is the same pup we got a while back. And he's gonna be a good one! He loves the little ones, has a great disposition, and his personality is out of this world!
Here is one of him, my wife, and granddaughter.
Mean ole Pit Bull!
Leif believes he is one of us, if we sit at the table, so does he, food or no.

Had a friend a while back who described little dogs. "Spit on them and they'll drown!" I don't like little dogs either. Cute but useless.

Not useless, just small. They're good ALARM dogs. There are many incidents where they have alerted families to a fire in the house, break ins, and more. I'm not a fan of small dogs but I've know plenty that were excellent pets.

Now-that's a real pet.
I actually have two black male shorthairs...they're bros. One of them brought a bird in and let it go while my Ma's physical therapist was here.

I was doing door to door selling and had to return to one house later that evening. I brought my Borzoi hound, Azuka, with me as she was always so well behaved. The woman had opened the door to her bird cage and the bird escaped. We both were trying to catch it. Azuka had her eyes on it (by the way, Borzois are Sight Hounds and see movement like a cat). I tried to reign her in but, as the bird passed her, she caught it in her mouth. Thinking this was the end of the bird, we were both surprised that Azuka allowed me to remove the bird from her mouth. It was totally unharmed and kept squeaking at the dog.
