The Day My Air Force Friend And I Almost Took On Two Army Rangers

We'd been shooting pool, and had owned the five dollar a stick partner's table for hours. We had drinks lined up we hadn't drunk yet, and we were toasted.
Two Army guys came in, and we got along pretty good until we'd won the fourth or fifth game at $5.00 a person. As things started deteriorating the BS started to flow. They told us they had just graduated from Ranger school, I informed them that Rangers weren't shit, we'd eat Rangers for breakfast. Pretty soon it was on, we were going outside to rumble. My friend whispers, you take the biggest one, I said biggest hell, I am going to get my ass kicked by the little one.
I square off with the big one, and I'm thinking this is not going to go very well, but what the heck. He looked as hesitant as I was, I had been talking an awfully good game telling him about the little known Air Force special services, and how they were the bad boys of the special services.
I started laughing, which tipped the guy off the deep end, he almost hit me, he wanted to know what was so frigging funny. I said what we were doing, that being in the military we should be friends. I was still laughing, and he started laughing and said that actually was pretty funny. Pretty soon my friend started to laugh and the other guy joined in. I was so relieved my knees started shaking, we went back in and bought them drinks and played a few more games.
My friend whispered on the way back in...talk about pulling one out of your ass. We really were laughing on the way back in, in relief, those Rangers were going to tear us new butts.

I do volunteer work at a veteran's court in Phoenix , AZ . Still the arguments of who is best still goes on .

Oh yeah, on bases where there are Navy and Marines they are not supposed to hang out in the same bar, it's going to result in fights.

Lolol, I suspect its just good times being remembered from service years.. I find it funny to read here knowing if anything happened with any of you all would be right there to take care of business....And each other..

Yes ma'am. All this quibbling would go by the wayside real quick and we'd be watching each others backs and relying on you gals, the ones not standing beside us, which we would discourage as it's too hard for a guy to see a woman shot down especially out in open territory, to put us back together.
LJ, I'm praying it doesn't come down to us against us but in a way it already has and it will take an outside intervention to change that. Back in 1962 Nikita banged his shoe on a table and he was right. 1964, Johnson started his GREAT SOCIETY and that was the beginning of the end of this glorious nation. We let it be done and are still letting it be done to us, we are being taken down from within. I don't know how old you are but hopefully I'll die of age or if this crap comes before that I'll have the strength to go down fighting for our FREEDOMS. God bless you and keep you free. Mike
