So I'm curious what you think about perjury to the senate and FBI. It's a prosecutable offense, so when the attorney general (Sessions) perjured himself and lied about contacts with Russians, should he be prosecuted, or at least forced to resign.

I have no doubt that if an Obama person had perjured themselves you'd be screaming to lock them up.

To Woodguru, not everyone, even in the same group, holds the same views. As for me, I have no respect for Congress, neither party. While currently, the democrats are openly against American citizens and for foreigners, especially illegals, I view the silence of most republicans in Congress as cowardly agreement. I wish thst in all future elections, people throughout the country would vote AGAINST all democrats and AGAINST all republican incumbents. The democrats are too ready to give our nation over to foreigners, only with new republicans do we stand a chance and even that is iffy.

Trump signed a spending bill with MASSIVE pork for the military.

Since Trump is a militarist, and since he now comes from the more hawkish of the two arms of the corporate party, it was more or less a given that he would waste huge sums on higher military spending while agreeing to the policies favored by Mattis, McMaster, et al. Add to this his fetish for “strength” and “greatness,” and you have a recipe for massive wasteful spending on weapons and programs that the U.S. doesn’t need. When there are already Pentagon agencies losing track of how they spend hundreds of millions of dollars, throwing more money at a huge department with inadequate oversight is pure folly. He seized on the nonsense talking point that the military had been “depleted” under Obama, and he has continued to use it until now, and he made undoing the imaginary “depletion” one of the main planks of his platform.

Who needs infrastructure when we can have empire? Unfortunately, we seem to have forgotten that most empires made their subject peoples pay the bills.
