Guns, of course aren't the problem. Read an interesting article the other day (trying to find it) stating that there seems to be a link between juveniles being medicated and violence occurring by said juveniles at a much greater and much younger rate. Also it seems many of these popular medications that parents seem to be giving doctors permission to use (instead of actively disciplining their kids) are permanently re-hard-wiring the brain of said juveniles. Resulting in juveniles much more prone to violence.

That right along with;Gun ownership is not our problem. Our problem is a widespread decline in moral values that has nothing to do with guns. That decline includes disrespect for those in authority, disrespect for oneself, little accountability for anti-social behavior, and a scuttling of religious teachings that reinforced moral values.

That certainly is true and its not guns and violence it is society as a whole...

We are hard wired in effect.. Fed up with the obstruction and lies of the progressives and their constant BS we are quickly becoming intolerant of it and them..

Never before did I look at we the people as the enemy from within, but guess what??? There are plenty!!

Hey, those are fine people, they just got a bit fed up with having a black man in the oval office.

And yes, racial and religious intolerance needs to be prosecuted as hate crimes, flying the symbols of hatred and intolerance is inciting.

Back when that right wing evangelical burned a pile of Korans in front of their mosque, the right defended that as a freedom of speech. I used to ask how it would go over if Muslims burned a big pile of bibles in front of a church. That is different, this is a christian nation and if you burned a bunch of bibles it would be their obvious reaction to attack those doing it. What about their freedom of speech....nothing

This is not a christian nation, the separation of church and states ensures that all religions are equal in the US, according to Ronald Reagan!

Don't even start, Trump supporters don't have a clue what the constitution is, and they don't give a damn when the GOP writes their own rules when it suits their purposes. They change the rules to fit their agenda, then when dems try to do the same thing Mitch McConnell gets all indignant and forgets the rules he used for things like senate confirmations as one example. McConnell submitted a comprehensive list defining how Obama confirmations would be done, that they would not happen until the FBI and OGE vetted them. If the GOP had complied with the rules they enforced for Obama nominees Trump still would not have a single one, they never would have gotten through the FBI and ethics part of the process.

Not that I need to ask, but what did you think of McConnell refusing to confirm Obama's SCOTUS pick Merrick? Wait until the election to serve the will of the people? Let the people decide? One year was plenty of time, the people already spoke when they elected Obama the second time, the people wanted Obama's person to go through the confirmation process. Yeah, the right is all about following the constitution.

The constitution says it's legal to have an abortion, conservatives think the constitution takes a back seat to the bible. Election laws mean nothing to red states with majorities and supermajorities, they do what they want in obvious violation of constitutional laws, when challenged and blocked by their state supreme courts they just move it up to the US supreme court. The right doesn't care about the law. Trump has been blocked by circuit courts for violations of the constitution several times, that is Trump's regard for the constitution.

In reality christian values have been poking insidious little holes in government for some time. All of the blocking of funds to women's healthcare centers is religiously inspired, it is violating the constitution in terms of attacking constitutional laws. Hobby Lobby was a religiously inspired premise that had no business flying, it should have been rejected on the face of it being a religious concept. The religious right is fighting to allow religious expression to take place in the workplace, that being the right to jam your religious beliefs down someone's throat that doesn't agree.

We as a government by the people have successfully fought off serious attempts to subvert constitutional laws in a backseat position to the bible. Back in the early 19th century or so, a hard run was made at making christian beliefs the law. I saw a documentary on the history of our industrial nation and the bible was a very hotly contested real thing that came close to being adopted.

The bible is sticking us in the face far too much, the right professes to be about moral values but then we see GOP politicians as the scum they are that have no regard for the bible except to play to a supposedly christian base. My mother moved to North Carolina and went to a church with 8000 people. Her take on that congregation was that she was looking at some of the most unchristian people she had ever seen in her life. She put it that some of these people didn't have a christian bone in their bodies. I'm sorry, but people who are racist bigots, who hate gays, who are simply mean spirited and hateful people, these are not christians, they are alternative christians. The bible becomes the justification for whatever evil attitudes these people want to have.

So we see the likes of Moore, Trump, Farenthold, guys who are truly despicable and they are supported by people who have no moral compass anymore. All that matters is winning, it doesn't matter how. You should be able to expose that a candidate who was a prosecutor and judge was removed from the bench twice for refusing to uphold the constitution and laws, and that person shouldn't be able to get one percent of the vote from the party of the law and constitution. Being a pedophile should be all it takes to eliminate the moral right. And yet the right will go on and on about the left losing all sense of moral perspective, this is incredibly funny.

But you have no problem with burning their Qoran? It doesn't matter what country you are in this country is about respecting each person's right to believe whatever they want.

So you would get pissed by bibles burning, but can't see why they would be pissed to see their's burned?

Each way you feel about something has a way that has to be applied to others.

What happens when there are no longer half the country who are christians? When christians are a minority, don't you want to have your religious beliefs, the ability to believe whatever you want to be your right? This country is based on being able to believe what you want, not bring sharia laws to government, or christian beliefs either.

Show me an atheist or agnostic (50+% of the country) and I'll show you someone who rejects god the same way a christian rejects other religions. While you believe in one religion and reject the rest, atheists reject all religions. The difference is that the atheist flat doesn't give a damn what you or anyone else wants to believe as long as it doesn't affect them. Moderately religious people also have respect for the beliefs of others. The idea of being such a hard believer that a person can have a problem with other beliefs is the problem.
