I had a tremendous pastor that said this;
If it is not shared in love, it is not coming from a Godly spirit.
Obviously, that is hard to hold to, but so true.

That is not to rule out sincere concern for other's situations, and attempted correction.
Just try and do it in Love.
Selah
Something I need to remember, but will fail sometimes.
Oh well.

Eagle, I can see the true spirit and love of God in you heart and mind. May God bless you.!
God is love!

We agree on that. Same to you. Cristians should not let doctrines get in the way of that.
BUT
I strongly believe that poor doctrine needs to be addressed.
It turns a lot of non-believers off; whereas true Bible understanding can alleviate some of that.
Poor doctrine is used a lot by non-believers to discount the veracity of the Word.

I agree with what you said.
I grow up a Catholic, studied in Catholic Schools. I had classmates whose parents were Protestants, and other faith. Two of them are still my friends. Their parents sent their children to Catholic schools to learn the virtues that I just wrote. They also sent their children for better and strict academic training. That is why there are thousands of Catholic schools, colleges and universities, all over the country. There are also thousands of Catholic hospitals and medical centers all over the country.

I will depend on God to judge who is right or wrong, instead of attacking other Christian faith with hatred and insults, ignoring that some of them have also forgotten the "Word" of God.

God asks to "love thy neighbor as thyself."

Yes; but the context is important, and the English term "Neighbor" used translate from Greek, is a study in itself. It has been many years since my pastor did a study on that.

In my opinion, loving covers all. Unless they attack to destroy me, I need to defend myself to survive.

We raised money and our Church now building huge apartment complex for the homeless. These homeless people are from all kinds of belief system. But we will give them homes because God said, "Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength" and "Love they neighbor as thyself". That commandment covers all. Because when you love others, you don't want to hurt that person. Charity is another virtue, that we Christians must have. That is why giving to those in need is very important.

eagleeye -- sorry I "blipped" your name. It's WONDERFUL to keep the faith.

A "romanist" friend of mine rudely left the lunch table at the restaurant
when we were talking about the bible She got mad, only because her
religion has no "argument" (I don't know a better word here) in the "debate."
She's still a friend, though!
