Ishatar is a pagan holiday of fertility; not only of mammals but of plants. It is the rebirth of the world or actually the Sun. It is celebrated in the spring because that's when all life begins from seed. It celebrates the blessing of a fruitful year. You guys would appreciate its celebration as it was the time to plant your own seed.

Alicia is correct for once. Ishtar was the Babylonian Goddess of Spring, also known as Inanna, and Astarte. This mythical being became the basis for the Greek and Roman Aphrodite and Venus. Ishtar was also the festival day of the resurrection of Tammuz, who was supposedly the product of a virgin birth by Isis/Ishtar/Astarte. (You'll never guess when Tammuz' birthday was celebrated.......December 25th.) This Babylonian cult, centuries later, morphed into the worship of Mithra; simply another name for Tammuz/Osiris/Mithra.
During the 4th century AD, the worship of Mithra was serious competition for Christianity. During the Nicene Council of 325 AD, the Emperor Constantine declared that from now on, Easter was a Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, rather than that of Tammuz/Osiris/Mithra. (Christmas, originally the birthday of Tammuz/Osiris/Mithra, was also celebrated for the first time on December 25th as the birth of Jesus in 336 AD, during the reign of Constantine).
The only mention of Easter in the Bible is in the Book of Acts, and it has nothing to do with Christianity.

All of the traditions surrounding both Easter and Christmas are pagan in nature and have their origins millennia before the birth and ministry of Jesus.

TY, BM. There was a movie back in the 60s that was very popular where every witness described what happened in exactly the same way, "lithe and fierce like a tiger." This is what led investigators to believe there was an actual coverup. Eye witnesses are thought of as the least reliable of evidence. Their testimony nearly always conflicts with other accounts and the facts. But not all are dismissable. Some see and retain better than others, even perfectly. Which version is right about the empty grave"? It was empty and Christ was seen alive is all that matters.

Uh huh...who hasn't played the pass on the phrase game as a kid in school?

For those with reading comprehension issues, here is Rumitoids's last paragraph.

{The truth of the resurrection of Jesus is in the disparate views freely expressed in the NT. Why allow it, if your purpose is to make a case for this new "Jewish cult"? "Get your story straight." But they did not. They allowed the testimonies as is, no matter possible conflictions. Who would be so openly honest unless utterly confident in the fact of his resurrection? The different views of what happened are common in eyewitness testimony. Allowing it instead of trying to make a coordinated and consistent statement of events lends to its veracity.}

Gotta watch those Google maps kids. A lot of the time they'll tell you to go left when you're actually suppose to go right. If you know what I mean.

I have no venom towards Rumi... None at all..

We have differing views, moldy, but I respect his opinions even if I don’t agree..

I rather like the cuss!! Lolol
He makes you think and will afford consideration to your point of view as well..

I can’t answer for others but perhaps its in how he supports it?? How he words it ...starts to support while Sabotaging it at the same time???

The venom did not come from you, others could not grasp what was said.
