I'm wondering if anyone besides me sees how typical this beautiful young woman's struggle with our dear children...too common. Hear her and see her.

Who You Are
Jessie J
I stare at my reflection in the mirror
Why am I doing this to myself?
Losing my mind on a tiny error,
I nearly left the real me on the shelf
No, no, no, no
Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing,
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are
(Who you are, who you are, who you are)
(Who you are, who you are, who you are)
(Who you are, who you are, who you are)
(Who you are, who you are)
Brushing my hair, do I look perfect?
I forgot what to do to fit the mold, yeah
The more I try the less it's working, yeah,
'Cause everything inside me screams, no, no, no, no, yeah
Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
But tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising
There's nothing wrong with who you are
Yes, no's, egos, fake shows
Like woo, just go, and leave me alone
Real talk, real life, good love, goodnight
With a smile , that's my own
That's my own, no, no, no, no, no
Don't lose who you are, in the blur of the stars
Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing
It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising
Just be true to who you are, yeah, yeah, yeah

Look at her! Look into her eyes.

Help them overcome their demons!!!!

I rarely click on a link, glad I did this. Saved it to show my great-grandkids. I do not tolerate bulling, because I went through it. My great-grandson, 10 years old came in last Friday from school and told me he had punched another boy in the stomach. Why, because he was bulling another younger boy and he had asked him to stop. I told him he did the right thing. Very proud of him standing up. Told him, don't ever start a fight, but never walk away. You're going to get your ass kicked sometimes, but it's about principle and being a man. In the Army I taught combative fighting, so he knows a lot more about self-defense than other kids his age.

It was absent from YouTube for a few years. I'm glad someone put it back.

It's an emotionally vicious world we've created for the kids.

There are many who blame technology, the inability to get away from anything if one is wired in. We've heard Rush give a pretty good explanation for how the imagery shown on social media, often falsely portraying lives being lead by other kids and the frustration these images create for those who perceive they aren't keeping up.

However, there is always the off button, most would suggest, for dealing with the situation. Any parent really feel they have control over their child's social media source?

The off button doesn't work anymore and what we've created is going to go where it will.

Of course people make their own choices but that applies to us too.

Who can take on the cares of the world or ease the fears of all the youngsters? Not I, although I can help some.

We need to keep these things in mind...discern the spirits that motivate the people around us and respond accordingly.

Fear, apparently, has a lot of influence these days.
