If I could afford to own a 57' Chevy,I would. Very simple;they are cool things. That's all.Just neat stuff. An assault-style weapon would not be my first choice of protection, but it would be an interesting addition to my collection.I'm an American, and appreciate things that people talk about.A.R.'s are still legal,so I'm picking one up for the simple pleasure of owning one. No big deal. Peace.

Yup. But the AR15 is not an assault type weapon no matter what the anti gun people want you to believe. It is simply one of many semi automatic weapons.

That day at the Ranch is a PRIME example as to Why we have the 2nd Amendment.

In other words, you think we don't "need" them, so what's the big deal? Right?
Well, that could be applied to a gazillion other things too if you think about it, couldn't it?

As for weapons making your balls bigger, I would be pushing mine around in a wheelbarrow if that were true.

heck Arch
I always figgered you needed a wheelbarrow

I as curious about why some folks insist that a ban on military style weapons would really impede their lifestyle................so I asked. It turns out that these weapons make very poor hunting tools, and the owners of such also had the appropriate hunting weapons in their arsenals. The consensus appears to be, that these military type weapons are for "self defense", so I asked "against what or whom?". Here's what they said;

Defense against home invaders. When I pointed out that a rifle bullet could pass through a wall easily and kill a member of their own family or neighbor, they appeared not to have considered that. Oh well.

Defend against the Government - in case they come after their weapons. When I asked how they thought they'd fare against armed military personnel, they appeared not to have given that much thought. Yeah, big deal.

Defend against armed invasion when the shit hits the fan. Yep, "Preppers", or near enough, except the folks around here don't have the secret underground shelters and huge stocks of food, etc. They just don't like the idea of a neighbor stealing their stuff after a major catastrophe. When I pointed that that all their neighbors were similarly armed, and it would be a toss up about who would survive such an exchange, they appeared not to have thought that far. Huh.

Defend against everybody else who is similarly armed. I think we've pretty much covered that already.

Since their reasoning was marginal at best, the only logical conclusion is that they want these types of weapons because they're cool............and some folks don't want them to have them. I suspect my youngest son ( who has more than one assault weapon. How many can you use at once? ), feels that owning them makes his balls bigger. I did disabuse him of that notion a little bit. We had a timed test, where he tried to take me out with his bushmaster, while I defended with my Katana............I marked him 3 times before he could jack a round and take the safety off.

You're Poppycock has no merit! The firearm is a tool....no more...no less! It like a scalpel if placed in the wrong hands it kills many! In fact the Doctor is a much more effective killer as statistics show! As long as we make sure there is a gun behind every blade of grass in this Country; our ever impressing Government is limited in its scope! Try another subject like Nurturing and bonding with a Family Unit! This is the crux of our violence issues in this Country! We must stop treating the sympton instead of the cause!

"Strange Time are these in which we live when old and young are taught falsehoods in school, and the person that dares to tell the truth is called at
once a lunatic and fool" - Plato (427 BC ) -

it is really very simple. once you ban the ar 15, then down the road it will be another type of gun, and so on and so on until they will want guns banned period from law abiding citizens.we see right through this logic. these ar 15,s are semi automatic just like my hunting guns. granted those modifications that make them fire much quicker, should be outlawed.the problem is a people problem. mental cases or murderers ! they pulled the triggers! not the guns. it,s an old problem.

The left is all about feeling for the well being of others. I really feel good having my AR and my handguns. Really feel good about it, and that should be all a lefty has to know to accept my feelings and support my right to feel good about my guns. I like them better for protection than a two foot sushi knife.

No need to be insulting here. A katana is at least three feet long.

I'll have you know any competent ninja can deflect a bullet with his katana, close the distance, disembowel his attacker and be back where he started before the gunman can chamber another round. Ninjas are like that.

I have a Sig Sauer .45. I don't have to chamber another round. No jap steel could withstand a .45 slug . No ninjas live around me anyway. All white people. I like that.
