Florida just passed legislation making it illegal reading porno because it’s unhealthy for kids, but deregulate the ability to buy an assault rifle.

The Florida legislature DID NOT "deregulate the ability to buy an assault rifle". What they did was vote down a bill that would have banned the sale of semi-auto rifles. A semi-auto rifle IS NOT an "assault" rifle.

You won't find any "assault" rifles on the shelves of gun shops, pawn shops, or sporting goods stores, nor are assault rifles available through online suppliers. You see, an "assault" rifle is capable of select fire options--semi-auto, burst fire, and full automatic, the only personnel issued "assault" rifles are law enforcement and military. Moreover, neither law enforcement nor the military designates the standard issue service rifle as an "assault" rifle. The "assault" rifle is a figment of the hoplophobes' imaginations.

If you want to purchase a firearm capable of automatic fire, you have to Jump through all the hoops. The National Firearms Act of 1934, or NFA, regulates fully automatic weapons, suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and destructive devices such as bombs or grenades. The NFA was subsequently modified in 1968 by the Gun Control Act and in 1986 by the Firearm Owners Protection Act. To manufacture, own, sell or shoot an NFA firearm, you must have a valid Class 3 Federal Firearms License, once you apply and paid the $200 fee, then follows the lengthy and burdensome process that requires extensive investigation by ATF. May take as long as one year. And, If you can find a legal, ATF-stamped, pre-1986 machine gun for less than $10,000, then you’re a miracle worker.

Obama tried to Limit size of Gun Magazines, Ban the sale of assault weapons, Eliminate Gun Show loopholes, ban the sale of guns to terrorest on the watch list, ban the sale of guns to people on the no fly list.
