"Scientists" Tyson And Pinker: Religion is Main Concern in School Shootings

Alex Parker ~ February 19, 2018
In the wake of last week's Parkland, Florida shooting, leftists have come out of the woodwork to offer ways to guarantee a safer America. While most have used the opportunity for political posturing in favor of gun control, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and Harvard psychologist Stephen Pinker have taken a different approach. The two lefties seem less intent upon banning guns, and more interested in ridding the world of a much more dangerous scourge: religion.

Tyson tweeted:

"Evidence collected over many years, obtained from many locations, indicates that the power of Prayer is insufficient to stop bullets from killing school children."

Okaay...

Has anyone stated publicly that only prayer is needed in a society comprised in part of evil people willing to do evil things? Tyson has to be mind-numbingly ignorant of faith in order to post such a thing. Prayer is not a comic-book power of the faithful to stop bullets; it is a communion between people and their Creator. Secondly, Christians -- who make up a majority of America -- do not dismiss material means of protection in favor of spiritual fellowship alone. Those who pray want a safe society just as much as the secularists; we all want good people to remain safe and bad people to be brought to justice, and as many safeguards to prevent atrocity as are possible while still allowing our constitutional liberties to not be trod upon.

However, to Pinker, the mere existence of atrocity should be enough reason for the country to do away with safety-hindering religion:

"(Such events) cast doubt on the idea that there is a benevolent shepherd who looks out for human welfare. What was the benevolent shepherd doing while the teenager was massacring his classmates?...If you’re counting on God to make the world a better place you are probably going to make the world a worse place because he is not listening and we saw that yesterday.”

Unbelievable. Religious people are making the world "a worse place?" Pinker suffers from a staggering ignorance of religion. People who believe they were created by God are not simply "counting on" Him to make everything better. Rather, those who believe they were created by a higher power feel that their lives have purpose -- one of which is to be a blessing to the world. To serve their fellow man. That alone makes the world a better place.

Neil deGrasse Tyson and Stephen Pinker are typical secular leftists, completely disconnected from mainstream America. Our country is one founded upon safety from tyranny and from the removal of our right to pursue life. Anyone who takes innocent life -- such as a deranged mass shooter -- has no place in this country, which is a nation also founded upon a faith in God. And those of us who hold that faith dear will continue to offer up prayers -- not with the intent to stop bullets, but for those families and loved ones who are enduring the heartbreaking loss of that evil act in Parkland.

To serve your fellow man? Don't you guy's actually have to serve your fellow man for the world to become a better place? So how does your stance on the semi auto make the world a better place? It's because our gun laws are so lax that a mentally ill child can walk into a gun store and walk out with enough fire power to kill 17 children. And you know why those gun laws are so lax? Well it not because of us liberals that's for damn sure.

And explain how exactly we are free from tyranny when our children don't even know if they will make it through to the end of the day. Don't you understand that there is more than one kind of tyranny to worry about!!! We have more guns per person than any nation on earth and a Conservative Christians solution is for more guns not less. What good is your god if he can't even protect children while they are at school?

So tell me Pete, why are those mentally ill kids hearing voices telling them to kill people? I know you'll scoff but could it be demonic? Would it have anything to to do with them being plied with psychotropic drugs and the breakdown of the family caused by "progressive" people such as yourself since the 60s? It has nothing to do with guns. If it did, we would have been having this issue since time immemorial. It is only since the introduction of psychotropic drugs, the breakdown of the family, the utter disrespect for human life, etc since the 60s that this has occurred.

==================
Faith in God, helps build a peaceful, loving society. Thus people behave better because of the guidelines of living of that Christian faith. God is love. God is merciful. If our children are trained like this, then they also will share that love to others. That is why I believe that faith in Christ who is a loving and merciful, God helps build better country, and safer schools.

However, democrats and liberals attack faith in Christ. They mock, they insult, they prevent our children from exercising their first amendment rights. Public schools punish or suspend kids who pray to Christ. Whereas they require Islam to be taught in schools under Mr. Obama's administration. And the labor union SEIU who donates tens of millions to the democrats protect the Muslims kids while they punish the Christians.

SEIU demands every year benefit and salary increases from taxpayers who are supposed to be the bosses, but instead we taxpayers become the victims of this political assaults by the democrats. Democrats in Congress and those in the local government help protect Islam, the religion of peace of Mr. Obama.

Thanks God, president Trump was elected. Problems have metastasized under Mr. Obama. President Trump has very heavy burden to fix. But this school crimes will be fixed. ASAP.

So you are blaming this on the 60's? The breakdown of the family has nothing to do with progressiveness and everything to do with couples that never should have been together to begin with. Take my older sister for example--she got pregnant in high school so married the asshole who impregnated her and after years of nearly being beaten to death she finally left him with one more kid added to the count. This had nothing to do with progressives and everything to do with two people who should have never been married to begin with.

Now if that didn't impress you take the case of my grandmother. It turns out that my grandfather was what you would call a 'mean' drunk and the more he drank the more he beat the shit out of my grandmother--a woman who was 5-1 against a man who stood 6-2--and honestly the meanest sob you would ever have run up against. Now my grandfather died when I was too young to really remember him but I remember one day talking to my grandmother when she bent over and said that she wished she had married my grandfather today because she could divorce his sorry ass instead of having to remain married to him because society forced her to. Now my grandmother eventually died because of her ribs, that had been broken countless number of time, hurt her so bad that they litterly choked off her last breath.

Now what you are shedding tears over is that my sister didn't spend her life having the shit beat out of her as did my grandmother correct and you are blaming us progressives for that instead of putting the blame where in belongs and that's on mismatched couples.

Cry me a river Pete. You grandfather may explain why you come by being an asshole honestly. As for your sister, why was she involved in premarital sex in the first place? If your parents would have been responsible, they would have warned her of the consequences. Your family, including you, sure puts the fun in dysfunctional. Which just gets passed to the next generation. Why don't you tell me about your sister's kids. Or your kids for that matter. I'm sure that they're just as, or more f**ked up than you are.

The problem is my family is more typical than not. The American family has always been broken down only women wouldn't divorce because of the stigma attached to it so they stayed in marriages that no human should endure. Your blaming that on progressive's simply shows how irresponsible you are. Do you think girls in the 60's didn't know the consequences of premarital sex? Do you think it was Sara Palin's failure as a parent that Bristol was in a constant state of being knocked up? Trump had a child out of wedlock was it us progressives fault because he couldn't keep his dick in his pants?
