I find it interesting that, according to this piece, police would rather not be tested for anything. It's an infringement on their rights, they claim. When one is allowed to carry a gun, and representing the law, they of all people should be tested.

Yes these are bad cops, and they should be punished but they are few and far in between!!!!...Most cops are good and save your life every day!!!..And risk their own life!!!!...So dont put all cops in the same category!!!..One day they might safe your life!!

Pretty shallow Richard. Like all liberals, you protest police when not needed then scream bloody murder when they aren't there to protect. Y'all have a knee-jerk reaction to everything, make stuff up after problems arise but never take the time to understand what happened. Ya'll ARE part of the problem.

Well, if you say so, plainlogic! However, be adviced, the only time I have ever called the police for assistance, is when my type of handling the situation would have landed me in more trouble than, I would have cared for.

Now consider this. Working for government, their persons and effects are exempt from 'unreasonable search and seizure'. Their employer is restricted by their 4th amendment rights. It's not like you and me, who work for non-government companies and can therefore be subjected to any search our employer deems reasonable, regardless of the legal standards. You can look at them all you want, you can 'suspect' until the cows come home. Regardless of the aesthetic, they will not be tested for drugs as a condition of their employment. Period.
