If laws work how in the world did the Florida shooter get his gun in a school? The school is posted as a gun free zone. Better think of a new law quick that criminals will obey.

Just posting a sign Gun Free Zone is not going to make it gun free, there has to be enforcement. How many people have you seen driving 70 miles an hour in a 55 speed limit zone ? Posted signs in todays society are a joke. People now are self-centered, got to be on my cell while I'm driving. If they cut you off, then F U.. It's your problem because they are privileged. I don't like intrusion of Federal Government into state rights. On this issue I think that the Federal Government should give the States the right to decide to provide school security or not. We have this kind of security just about everywhere, except our schools. Try to board a plane without a security check. Try to go into any Federal Building without a security check. If the Left is so outraged and demanding that something be done. They were in power for the last eight years, why did they not address this issue ? For the same reason they didn't address DACA. Just think about it.

No, they were not in charge for the last 8 years. The last 6 years, republicans held the house and the senate. Even if Obama had wanted legislation that could have prevented this (and I have no reason to think that he did), congress would not have passed it.

If I were smart enough to find an answer to this, I would be running for office. I am afraid we are left with: it has to start in the home. Unfortunately, a lot of homes have nothing to start with.

I wish you'd go to my post possible solutions. It's definitely out of the box. This last shooting should certainly have been stopped. FBI had plenty of tips they could act on. When I was growing up took about twenty minutes to go through the airport. Times changed and so did the airports. it's expensive but we are now safer flying. The same thing can be done for schools since knee jerk reactions such as banning scary guns will only affect law abiding citizens.

Good point JFlorio, why didn't the shooter follow that law?? I guess the school forgot to post part 2: ALL CRIMINALS CAN NOT BRING THEIR GUNS INTO THIS SCHOOL. Now that would have stopped that filthy murderer.
